2. Why has Barros been so much slower than Stoner all season when on similar machinery?

It will take an equally eager and gritty rider on the same aquipment to compare.

It would seem your now indicating Stoner is simply that much faster than Caparossi etc because he is younger, more focused and has a stronger will to win than Caparossi and simply does 'NOT' have just a better machinery after all?

why is stoner quicker? because ducati is taking him there and he is making no mistakes in avoiding any close contact as much as he can with anybody.
is he riding the ducati any faster than anybody else?
very very very very and very unlikely - anybody else , so far , is ONLY capirossi and noone else - the oldest guy out there. alex barros? - a bit like a woman - you don't listen due to the emotional outbursts, and didnt follow Morgue's instructions to read the article he told you to.

I will never underestimate Loris Capirossi, he is damn fast but when a rider tells that it is his last season (2007)
then I know how it stands motivationwise. You will see him cash a nice cheque at Suzuki, maybe win one or two, and retire.

Total agreement with you Morgue, good luck capirossi he deserves it more than anyone else on the grid. i hope he keeps smiling cashing the big cheques and gets out with out injury, go capirossi, its a pleasure to watch him ride. his mrs is gorgeous the kiddie is cute why carry on, get back home to that mate before you miss it all
