Michelin wanted to bar Rossi from testing Bridgestones this year,
after negotiations with Dorna they allowed him to test at Jerez.
He also drops the Rally appearance this year and lets his hand heal.

Burgess is contracted to Rossi, Lorenzo's is Ramon Forcada (former crewchief of Carlos Checa).

DePuniet was fastest again a few minutes from the end of the session, then Hopper and Vermeulen left the pits for a short 4-laps run suggesting they were using the softest race tires available, not qualifiers though.

Only Dovi used qualifiers today, and improved on his race tires time by 4 tenths.

Last day tomorrow, 2008 promises to be interesting with all these news names doing well and the machinery/rubber changes for many riders

I think what these times show is how far the Yamaha is off the pace compared with the other bikes. 3 Yamaha's in the bottom 4?? Before you say that Toseland and Lorenzo are new to the class, so is Dovi. A difficult year ahead, me thinks!

I agree on that but they are still running 2007 bikes. The new chassis that Rossi tested a month or so ago
will probably be at Jerez again. Still, the biggest steps probably have to be made on the engine side...

Isn't it a fact that Yamaha have never got it together and Rossi has managed to gain advantage from a lesser machine?

Fook Lorenzo, he's had all the cards staked in his favour for the last 2 years - he's gonna struggle and he's a stroppy little tvvwat. They'll lose Rossi though.
