Go Hopper!
It's only testing, but it's good to see John on the pace on the Kawi.

MOTOGP » Hopkins fastest, no 'new' Kawasaki.

New Kawasaki signing John Hopkins was the fastest rider on day two of the Sepang test, with a bike he says is 'night and day different' to his former Suzuki ride.

Didnt know..just read it. Though Im not surprised - I was trying to figure it out - and I thought something similar and that is - the importance of the mother figure, which of course doesnt reflect on his racing , but its the body language, attitude, feminine-masculine part that each one us has and I like to figure those things out myself.
made me a bit sad when I read it..yet, toseland is who he is and that part of his past is a part of his develoment. find it quite interesting; thanks for sharing Morgue

James had quite a tough youth,
the interest in music was fuelled by his stepfather Ken (though in his genes ofcourse),

thanks matilda - a good start to the day.
:) :)
what a funny guy - toseland. it looks like his mum had a dominant part in his life: piano, singing, erotic photographs ...or he may have been a female in his previous life :?
lucky he's got the male racing side too him as well :-o

All Hopkins has ever needed is machinery on a par with his skills. He has always been fast, consistent, and gutsy. Since first coming to MotoGP he has never had the backing he needs. The Kawi is a better machine than the Suzuki, and I think you will see Hopper taking a lot of podiums in 2008. However, unless something very surprising happens he still does not have the machinery to take the championship, but he will be a lot closer than he was in 2007, and much more of a factor.

Yeah that Steve Irwin tribute was the b0ll0cks, anything like that, that shows someone as a down-to-earth decent person in this world of prima donna sporting millionaires (few & far between in bike sports anyway) can only make you like someone & feel like they're a bit like you deep down......... Hoppers just that, down to earth, no bull****, straightforward & very normal. I was lucky enough to meet him at Brands, I'd always thought he was awesome to watch, & found out he's a top bloke too.......

Elbow down style too! ;) :) :) :) :)

Didn't know about the Steve Irwin, wildlife thing - so one more reason to support Hopper. Anyway don't start going all soft on me, I still think your as mad as a box of frogs, but hey, nobody's perfect, and I would be very disappointed in you if you ever gave it anything less than full-throttle. I too will try and lighten up, there's no mallice intended towards you, just a bit of fun that sometimes goes a bit too far with the excitement. Here's something I came accross at visordown.com which you might like.

Enjoy :)

Hopper also likes animals like hayden; when steve irwin died :-( , he was the only that day on the grid, to have a board with a written farewell/goodbye to steve - and to show it to the cameras.

And modest too eh Gina!:p

Hoppers the man, one cool dude!. I saw him at brands a while back doing demo laps on the gsrv. It was pissing down, he still went out & hammered the thing round there when most other people would've not bothered.... And he still managed stand up wheelies along the curved & banked start finish straight.... in the rain!

You can't help but admire the bloke attitude, commitment, style of riding (elbow down!), & fearlessness...... even if he does look like he's borrowed simon cowells teeth.

Go Hopper, he'll be right at the sharp end this season, he's the best rider by far to have sat on the Kwaker

My pleasure Gina. Put the Stoner/Rossi bashing aside and I'm quite a reasonable chap. Honest! I've always admired Hopper ever since I first saw him on the Red Bull Yamaha. He's certainly got the speed and a good attitude towards racing. Now he's not crashing as much then he could upset a few more people next season - plus he has the best teeth outside Hollywood. :)
