Go Hopper!
It's only testing, but it's good to see John on the pace on the Kawi.

MOTOGP » Hopkins fastest, no 'new' Kawasaki.

New Kawasaki signing John Hopkins was the fastest rider on day two of the Sepang test, with a bike he says is 'night and day different' to his former Suzuki ride.

there is a different kind of determination that is making hopkins get better every year.poss will take longer but the drive is pure. he's not a poser like hayden, much more intensive than stoner and stoner-lethargic-alikes. passionate and fast. hard childhood, loss of father. matching kawasaki to his personality - i believe may surprise us all as well. hope so.
definitely doesnt make the sport a boring yawnfest!
i admire hopkins's drive and not getting too involved with other riders and press etc. not a moaner.
my feeling is that its not so much the loyalty that is importnat to him; just refined slow development. legenddom is not his goal which is a strength

I agree with you, he is more like a wine that ages and gets better every year.
The question is do you get the time in this day and age when all they seem to want is youths...
He defenitely is a gent when racing and makes the most awesome wheelies! :p :p :p

much more skill in performing on a kawasaki will make this season hopefully more exciting thanks to hopkins amongst the few others.
respect a development/determination, drive , even if its slower, like in hopkins's case, much more than having it all easy like it fell all easy for little red rooster.
other people wanted to feed of that idea ( being the next Kevin Schwantz )but to hopkins doesnt look like he gives a **** about those things: he will just be hopper and that honesty is his strength. dont think hopkins likes it easy - either/ agree - something to do with childhood.

do you get the time ? don't know..somehow in hopkin's case - it looks like those things and poss trends that are getting commercialized do not bother hopkins. he doesnt look like a guy that cares about what people think and want from him, yet he is a giving rider. he wants to give people the passion he has for the sport - wheelies, happiness..fearless - the american in him. respectful and a gentleman as someone before said - the englishman in him. good combination

If the Kawasaki lives up to its potential we will see Hopper on the Top step, put him on a factory Honda or Duke and he could be special. For those of the old school this guy can steer from the rear as well, and remember he is still a young guy, younger than Tosland. Who will by the looks of it be on the runt of the field unless Yamaha make some quantum steps.

I'm with the dump the electronic aids brigade and then see who can ride like Schwantz/Doohan et-al

Totally agree with the comments about Hoppers commitment and passion for racing. He his one of the most fearless and exciting riders on the grid. Hope he has a really good season next year and bags a few well deserved wins. Kawasaki have worked hard the last couple of seasons to get the bike up to speed so I hope he does it for their sake as well. :)
