Good decision, at least he gets to race!
playing third violin to Ducati and hoping and praying fre the odd wildcard appearance is nothing for a young bloke.

Good luck Chaz, kick them Yanks! ;)

Dont see why everyone seems to think that the AMA is so good ?,compared to doing a season in world supersport instead.Riders of the calibre of Chris Perris who couldnt get close to the front runners in WSS let alone score points (apart from the very odd occasion)but can run well in the top ten in AMA.just shows the strength of field in America , maybe Chaz should try a season with the fast boys and we will see how good he really is with no excuses, top Brit ?? think there are a few very good young Brits who would dispute this one ... all the same good luck for next year.

the bike he's getting isn't Roger Lee Haydens' old bike nor is the Attack Kawasaki Team the factory team. I haven't read anything of the subject yet, but the article mentions Steve Rapp so i'm guessing Davies is replacing Ben Attard (who was the underperorming of the two teammates.)

As you 'havnt read anything on the subject' youre just speculating then??
If you want to be a pedant, then perhaps I should have written factory 'supported' :p

He sure wont be getting either Attard or Rapps bike as they are for sale. :)

To an issue raised in another post, to race for a team in WSS you have to bring a budget while in AMA Supersport and FX, you are paid. :-o

Clearly the reason Mr Davies left 250 GP is because he grew too much. Too tall and too heavy verses the other top riders in that class and yes top 6 makes you a top rider in 250 GP

His new FX and SS bikes should be worth 1-2 seconds a lap over his rides in 2007. That is what he needs to go from top 10 to top of the podium in both classes.

This should be well demonstrated at the Dunlop tire testing sessions at Daytona in December.

As for never seeing him race again......I suggest that would depend on where one lived or at least how far one was willing to travel.....

I shall certainly make the effort to get to Laguna Seca in 2008.

I think the comments re Chris Perris is a bit of a red herring. As a generalisation, most riders who go to a new set of tracks don't perform as well as they do on tracks they regularily race on. There are exceptions of course but they are in the minority. It just takes most a while to get familiar with all the new tracks idiocincries (why do i keep picking long words i can't spell!)

Chaz has made the right decision for sure.

the last thing a very talented & promising young rider wants to do is go at least one full season without a race & ride around a lonely track testng parts & tyres. Given the bike he'll be on he should be up at the sharp end all season.

Show them yanks the way son! ;)

will

im only speculating on if he's taking ben attards seat, but you try to bring an argument where im speculating on the entire subject. first off, if he were taking the champions seat, which is roger lees and he rides for the Monster Factory Team then how can Davies be signing for the Attack squad and its the champs old seat? second, Attack is not part of Monster team and Attack did not win the 07 SS championship like you mention. third, Attack will have no ties to Motogp. fourth, even if you wrote "factory supported" you're still completely wrong and presenting bogus info. read and understand before you comment..jeez some people on here write the stupidist stuff

What I do know is that Chaz was offered a world supers ride but decided it was a retrograde step, he wants motogp or the opportunity to earn the money that good results, and podiums, pays in the States. Taking a private ride in world supers or ss pays no where near the 'potential' of State side. Folk finally know who he is now and, at his tender years, God willing, he can only go onwards and upwards.... why not earn some money rather than know you're on far inferior gear than the likes of those that have no justification for their wage demands, Fonsi Nieto, Regis Laconi to name but two. His passport is all wrong but he has some highly placed mates too...he knows what he's doing, really. Dean

I still think he's an idiot unless he has no intention of returning to the world stage, maybe he has decided he can't cut the mustard at GP level which in that case fine but riding in the US puts him completely off the radar.

If I ever had the talent and someone offered me either a Ducati MotoGP test ride or a backwater production championship seat it's a no-brainer from where I sit.
