On this side of the globe the traditional lightbulb is being replaced by low energy versions,
windmills appear left and right and people are made aware of what's going on with the globe.
In this light it is completely and utterly stupid to burn a trainload of oil to hold a fancy nightrace
especially if it is to disguise that the real audience consists of ten dromedaries, a fenek and handfull of desert rats.

Gizmo. I do ride a pushbike to work to reduce my carbon emmissions. I also fly and drive when nessacery. As you say, all of us do and we are not going to change, so we need an alternative to oil. Even if you don't think we are altering the climate, the oil won't last forever.

I am looking forward to the night race but that is just the new vulgarian in me. In reality it is an unessacery nonsense.

Science fiction hydrogen cars and even aircraft where do they store the pressurised hydrogen, the first car smash would wipe out a whole town. Cancer cure once they split the salt atom you can't be half green unless your yellow or blue Alice you are on the wrong side of the looking glass. Watch the night race with bikes burning fossile fuel on a plastic TV & join thr real world

Gizmo. You are entitled to your opinion, as we all are.

The hydrogen fuel cells use LIQUID HYDROGEN not gas. It can be stored in a tank the same as petrol is now. It is not science fiction, BMW and Ford currently have working prototypes.

Yes gizmo, we are all hypocrites.

jh thank you for your permission to have an opinion, only it wasn't opinion it was fact people who suddenly become a greenie to suit their argument do more damage to atmosphere than China as they kid themselves and try to kid others at least China don't kid nobody.
How many protypes of alternate fuel cars have been prototypes over the years, how many have reached production, BMW and Ford and others are conducting a big PR excercise.
I am not a hypocrite when the fuel runs out I won't watch motogp

The problem is not that the fuel runs out Gizmo, before that we might have soiled our nest (and the air around it) too badly.
I agree that it is highly hypocritical to point the finger at the Chinese when we are the ones that give them the bad example.
It starts with ourselves, it is a shame that the governments of huge consuming countries like the US are still in denial
and unwilling to cooperate. I can't argue with the fact that racing is not a clean sport but the bottom line should not be to take all the fun out of life but to be responsible. And holding a night race like this is a bad example, if you want to do it right
fit the bikes with lamps like in Endurance, that's a real challenge
