MOTOGP » Rossi: This is what I've been waiting for

Valentino Rossi admits the switch to Bridgestone tyres has brought no miracle transformation in performance, but he has gained much more consistency - and says the change was just what he'd been waiting for.

Yeah I bet Michelin loosing lots of sleep over rossi too funny.... hmmm wonder how motivated Michelin will be now in 08 ?? Dani sure aint complaining about his choice of tyres lately I hear? Didnt here any whining from Hayden either at the island ?
Horhay will be sitting pretty come the later part of season 08 as top Yamaha rider I predict.

GO HORHAY

Burgess makes great assesments, always interesting to read ;)
After Vale's accident he described that'data showed he was a little bit earlier on the throttle than the previois laps
and that the hand was actually broken by the violent shaking of the handlebars, not by hitting the ground,
imagine that

I've read about J.Burgess commenting more about Michellin than Rossi and - he mentioned that now that michellins have lost rossi - they are in an even worse position ( kinda "stuffed" ) as tings will be clearer as how bad they were - so didnt really think rossi would be non-diplomatic. looked like JB was commenting more towards that way..so dont think its really a big deal / it was more like an opinion..nothing non diplomatic i think

Yeh I know, it looks a bit like a cane toad when see in frontal view :p :p sorry...
Still it's a pretty engine... why build such an ugly doghouse around it :?

My favourite Ducati moment was Capirossis first win with the 990, when he neeled down in tears when their anthem was played, then you could really feel what it means to them :)

Wouldn't you like to see him on a Buell then? :p

But seriously, I think his Ducati talking was blown out of proportion, he said things to trigger Yamaha and part of it was
a joke. The press picks up on it fast because he is in the limelight. Ofcourse winning on a Ducati would be a very 'Italian' thing to do but Casey has 'stolen' the opportunity to do that so they don't need him to prove they can do it.
I would like to see him bring Yamaha back to the front and produce a winning bike so that the other riders can benefit,
it will only make the top broader and that is good for the sport.

Yeah more than likely Morgue. I'd still like to see him ride the Ducati before he retires from bike racing though, even if it's only for sentimental reasons! :D

He said before he didn't want to go far beyond - say - 32 in MotoGP
but I think next season is pivotal in making his decision, another mediocre Yamaha year may push him out of the sport
and into WRC. They are welcoming him with open arms there, imagine the amount of people he will get interested in that sport too, the Rossi effect ;-)
He will get known in new countries like New Zealand, Argentina, Norway, Sweden, Ireland.
Probably ending up competing in the Dakar Rally untill he reaches 46 years and retire....
