MOTOGP » Rossi: This is what I've been waiting for

Valentino Rossi admits the switch to Bridgestone tyres has brought no miracle transformation in performance, but he has gained much more consistency - and says the change was just what he'd been waiting for.

I'd imagine Michelin would be quite keen to see Dani stay at the top of the times today!
:D

Rossi on the other hand however would be equally keen to show Michelin how well he can go on "Bridges"! (A big F'k you to Michelin) :-o

Rossi needs to be very diplomatic over what he says about Michelin and not go burning any bridges. If in the future they prove to be a better tyre than the Bridgestones then he may need to go back to them without having to a large portion of humble pie.

Well, in an interview with the BBC the other week he reckoned he had the motivation to go on for another 2-3 years. (by which time he would be in his early 30's)

As he is keen on WRC, that *might* be just young enough to go on for a few years after he hangs up his leathers...? Anyone? :p

He said before he didn't want to go far beyond - say - 32 in MotoGP
but I think next season is pivotal in making his decision, another mediocre Yamaha year may push him out of the sport
and into WRC. They are welcoming him with open arms there, imagine the amount of people he will get interested in that sport too, the Rossi effect ;-)
He will get known in new countries like New Zealand, Argentina, Norway, Sweden, Ireland.
Probably ending up competing in the Dakar Rally untill he reaches 46 years and retire....

Yeah more than likely Morgue. I'd still like to see him ride the Ducati before he retires from bike racing though, even if it's only for sentimental reasons! :D

Wouldn't you like to see him on a Buell then? :p

But seriously, I think his Ducati talking was blown out of proportion, he said things to trigger Yamaha and part of it was
a joke. The press picks up on it fast because he is in the limelight. Ofcourse winning on a Ducati would be a very 'Italian' thing to do but Casey has 'stolen' the opportunity to do that so they don't need him to prove they can do it.
I would like to see him bring Yamaha back to the front and produce a winning bike so that the other riders can benefit,
it will only make the top broader and that is good for the sport.

Yeh I know, it looks a bit like a cane toad when see in frontal view :p :p sorry...
Still it's a pretty engine... why build such an ugly doghouse around it :?

My favourite Ducati moment was Capirossis first win with the 990, when he neeled down in tears when their anthem was played, then you could really feel what it means to them :)
