Quick straw poll, does ANYONE want traction control for their road bikes? I don't!

I'd love to see the bikes allowed slipper clutches and that's about it! Forget traction control, launch control, anti wheelie control, etc. Let's see some good ol' fashioned RACING! I want to see drama, I want to see powerslides!

Christ! Even F1 is banning stuff again! :?

MOTOGP » Honda one-two as 2007 concludes - but...

Repsol Honda scored an impressive one-two during the final day of 2007 testing, at Jerez in Spain on Thursday - but with its 'old' machine.

Well Beulliful. For me it's irrelevant as my bike doesn't have enough guts to pull the skin off a rice pudding but I certainly want to see powerslides and tyre smoke when I watch racing, so no to TC etc.

You can count me in, ban the electonics!
Slipper clutches are for sissys that want a fourstroke to act like a twostroke
what's wrong with some good olld fashioned engine braking? Save brakepads too :p

(Oh, and while we're at it, ban Ezpeleta)

But Beulliful does have a point. Restrained electronics would widen the differences between talented riders and the rest to the extreme. de Puniet and Hopper would become WSBK material the very next season, for instance.

Regarding Traction Control I quote Rossi, "traction control is very important to the riders safety" the riders saftey should be the most important part of any motor sport.

TC and all the other electronics are the reason a guy like Michael Schumacher can jump on a motogp bike for only the second time and run 3 secs of the pace!!! turn that crap off and smoke and slide!!!

If you must quote Rossi then be exact:

"now the electronics make an important part. Maybe more than the mechanical part. We move a little bit like F1 where to set the mapping, engine brake, traction control is more important then suspension, preload and spring.
I think with the electronic we did a big step for the safety because now there are a lot less crashes and injuries, this is very important for our sport. But I don't think MotoGP should go too much that way because the show will become less.
Beattie: you think MotoGP will become like F1?
Rossie: Yes they have to try to stop it a little bit but to stop the electronics is quite impossible because you have to go inside the issue"

sorry inside the ECU (not issue) to understand what has happened and that is wuite impossible

Beattie: Maybe an controlled ECU?
Rossi: I don't know, maybe it's possible, or the same ECU for everybody, I don't know.
But anyway we hope because the good of our sport is that the rider make a lot of difference,
now a little bit less, if it's like this I think it's ok we don't have to go too much further"
