One thing I notice and admire about Champions like Rossi and Michael Schumacher is their humble assessment of a situation and their gratitude towards the team. I hope both Rossi and Stoner recover before next test.

After being an impressive second fastest on only his second day with Bridgestone tyres, Valentino Rossi slipped to eleventh after a painful end to 2007 at Jerez on Thursday.

that's good. when I read the topic - it sounded like he crashed..but the hand is OK - hurts now but will heal until the next test.
the joints involved ( carpal + metacarpal )probably woudnt be so hard to heal if the ulna the smaller of the two bones, in his arm from the elbow to hand - wasnt involved.
it will be OK in a months time though.

Adam,
I completely disagree. The stress level driving a Rally car with a broken hand is totally different from that of a motorcycle. The hand/wrist is essential and way more stressed on a bike then driving when driving a car. Plus at least Rossi tested his new tires and was competitive on an 07 bike with a broken hand. I think you might be the one with the ego problem. Saying that Rossi should stick with Bikes is like telling Michael Jordan not to golf. Rossi is talented in more then one motorsport discipline.

please does not ever call him moron again!!! You might not like it if I call you a fool or a hooligan. He doesn't really owe you anything, he is doing well or not, it is his life. I am his fan with my own free will and even if he can't race any longer, I will be his fan forever. Since 1999 he colored my life. He is a wonderful talented human being. I read his book and I quite understand him more by reading his autobiography. Well can't blame me I suppose as I love the rider – anything he does, doesn't matter to me. We don't own him as our personal possession anyway. I believe 2008 he will be champion again, GO VALE……Lina, Kuala Lumpur

Driving a rally car is something he does for fun... a nice change from riding a bike as your job! :) not a bad job though I suppose ;)... thats like a builder injuring himself playing football at the weekend and then telling him he should have been thinking about work and not played! give it a rest and start looking forward to 08 like everyone else its going to be far better than this season I reckon!
