are we all so lobotomised in thinking that youth is all that counts ? Do artists have to stop painting, or making music just cos they are 28 ? Why can't riders saty for as long as they feel fit enough to do so ? isn't troy bayliss still able to kick most riders, even if aged 38 ? Didn't he win a MotoGP race at 36 ?
It's only the media circus that wants you to believe a champ is out when older than 26...

That is truly fantastic news, so many people especially the press are trying to force Valentino into a decision, he''s got years left at the top and if he finally ends up at Ducati it would be truly awesome.

Lets hope that he hasn''t made the wrong decision in going for Bridgestone, when Michelin look to be making a comeback, whatever happens it''ll be an exciting season!

Yes, it's good to see he still has the motivation. Must be difficult after being beaten twice and now at the "upper age bracket" (jeez I'm old!!). I think Rossi and Ducati would be pretty good for both sides. I don't think Vale would have taken the Bridgestone decision lighty and I don't think Bridgestone give up their title without a battle.

the beginning of his waining years started last year and now it sounds like he will stay for 5 more disappointing years.
Rossi''s reign was over in 2006. :D
it''s time for the NEW guys to take the crowns.
I highly doubt Rossi will win another championship before his career is over.
Let the flaming begin. :p

I can almost hear the worldwide sigh of relief. Like him or not (and I do), the man has been vital to the rise in popularity Motogp has enjoyed since moving to 4 strokes and his presence on the grid means untold thousands in the stands and in front of the TV.

Interesting move, though.

Good to hear that Rossi wants to be beaten again by Casey fore the coming years..
(Nice battles to come, looking forward) :)

I dont think that yamaha will change his engine concept, but this news will shaken things a bit more in Japan..

Fair point jihem. I guess it is down to the individual. I was referring to the percieved "upper age bracket" which is not necessarily my opinion. These things aren't set in stone are they.

Very pleased that Rossi will be in MotoGP for another 5 years, I can only speak from my own experience, but you dont lose the ability to go fast once you pass 35 only the desire to do so!. As to who he will ride for next, that is a " Rossiom" . He did not take the easy option with yamaha, lets hope he does not ends up just riding for the money, that would be a sad end to a great champion.
PS. Hey Morgue, are you starting with a split personality, or is some sad soul trying to gain some credibilty by using your name!

I'm a Rossi fan and its great news hes going to stay. To me,its irrelevant whether he wins any more titles,i would just like to witness in my lifetime someone who can break remarkable records. So hopefully now Rossi can pass Agostini's record of race wins,68.
Just like Armstrong winning 7 Tour De France's, like M,Scumacer beating Fngio's record, maybe next year Federer 6th Wimbledon,Phil Taylor 13 World titles.
So good luck Rossi, i love his riding style too.
Come on James Toseland, podium at Donnington :)
