I''ll remember this year as the one where we were reminded that Rossi is human despite having Burgess. Honda wasn''t even really in the championship fight despite building a bike around "Mighty Mouse" Pedrosa. Michelin were left behind with no unfair advantage. And, the paddock falling all over themselves because two riders, Rossi and Pedrosa, were not competitive every weekend. Stoner deserves to be World Champion. How many others were on Bridgestones? What did they do? Stoner''s teamate could only muster one win on the so called "dominate bike" and Melandri is having some real trouble coming to terms with his new ride.

For me, 2007 is the year lousy Michelin tires & an under-powered Yamaha M1 lost the title for Rossi ..... sad

A journalist can make it look really exciting when he sums it up in a story like this, in reality it was boredom.
You can practically describe the whole season by the first race at Qatar:
Stoner pulling away at the straight, Rossi clawing his way back on the brakes and in the curves.

Hope for better battles next year!

How sad people only talk about what lost Rossi the title. The yamaha is built around a philosopy of handling over power and aerodynamics, the ducati for speed over agility. Stoner is increadibly skillful to wrestle that thing around the corners, as much a case of the rider skill overcoming the short comings of a machine as the bike giving him an advantage down the straights. I can't seem to recall Rossi cornering much better than stoner.

You people talk about wanting to see a rider make a difference on the track, well in Mr Stoner you saw it. Where were the other 08 Ducatis? I look forward to 2008 being a closer battle, if not I look forward to seeing Rossi on a Ducati in '09.

Thanks. Mr Moto, for one of the fairest and most objective comments on the Stoner vs. Rossi situation in '07. Rossi is and will remain forever one of the best riders in premier-class history, and he certainly wasn't given the equipment to be able to take the fight to the top, but that shouldn't degrade acceptance of what Stoner achieved this year, which was by any standards a mighty performance.

Can anyone deny that Stoner was a low-option pick for Ducati, and therefore it is ridiculous to suggest by inference from his results that Ducati built a bike specifically to suit him? He took what he was given and rode its ring off, capitalising on its strengths and riding around its weaknesses.

This must be the most boring year in motogp history
Iam not taking anything away from Stoner he was awsome this year
But seeing all of the good riders have so much problems that Stoner can go a whole season and constant beating them with many seconds it's not fun it's not racing it's a shame to all of us watching.
Let us hope that Yamaha.Honda work day and night to fix this
Becuse next year we want to see close and tight racing
TO ALL HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR :)

Get a room! :)

Cheers Oscar. As I've said before, Rossi & Stoner are exceptional riders, who stand out from the rest in terms of their fantastic abilty. I wish we could see them both on a equal footing in terms of equipment but this rarely happens in motorsport and when it does it doesn't always work (McLaren 2007).

Although 2007 didn't give us much of a highlight reel, we should respect what a hard charging youngster did when signed by a big team as a No2. As Morgue said lets hope for battles on the track next season.
