The Ducati Desmosedici GP8 may have made its track debut during testing at the end of 2007, but the bike with which Casey Stoner will defend his MotoGP crown had its official unveiling on the snowy slopes of Madonna di Campiglio in Italy on Tuesday.

JH, Funny you should mention that, yes there was a point where it.....lets say changed. But I lived through it, worse for ware, suffice it to say proffesional racing with spinal injuries is not too smart when a wrong crash could effect my walking abillities so now its for a laugh, a hobby thing to always improve, best I can be without binning it for the win type stuff. But Im still riding right or wrong, I dont think a could live without motorbikes. Even though my injuries were work related and nothing to do with bikes I still water it down when it comes time to explain to the missus the last crash did'nt hurt anything and I didnt know there was a vollyball sized bruise on my side???? :?

Back then I did'nt know much about it, at the time I was in regional QLD their was a speedway I used to go to but there was no bike racing there. my first taste of racing was mud drag racing, I went to watch, next thing I know this official has me racing?
It was a fish taily experiance? Your front tyre would get stuck in one rutt and the back would get stuck in a different rutt and she would bend and flex and crabwalk a bit before she could come together, it was a great learning curve riding a bike when the wheels were'nt in a straight line. The bike being pulled in 2 differnt directions and feeling the frame flexing outta shape. Yep those were fun days.

I think the reason I like the rain is that when I bought my first road bike I was 16 and silly (no licence), and being a 500gp freak i wanted to slide like them but my GSX250 was kinda.....powerless, So when it rained the hoons and bogans in their 4bangers were out lighting them up so thats what I did. When it rained i went out to my fav corners and started powersliding, drifting, backing it in and even more stupidly I loved to pull up in front of my mates with the front wheel locked (wet or dry), then let the brake off before stoppng so I did'nt stack it in front of everbody.

Ace27 It's a pity you didn't ride in the rain at Eastern Creek as I would have liked you opinion on the type of fish that were swimming accross straight, I thought they may have been European Harps.I don't like riding in the rain I find it dangerous as I catch cold when I get wet and have to go to bed for a week. You take it easy in the rain don't want Marloo drivers frightened.

No, my club is,nt involed at the national level, not where Im concerned anyway.
i did see it and wished i was racing though, I know might be wrong but I just love racing in the wet. The weird bit is Ive never crashed in a wet race but have crashed once on the road in the wet and the other time about two years ago I ran off the road at the bend before the bridge at the top of Macquarie Pass going down it, I rode up the side of the mountain, came back down slip sliding all the way and ended up back on the road still in front, i beleive i may have scared the driver at that point, he was driving a Maloo ute.
I was going too fast, the front went walkies on the double white line at turn in. :D

Troy Corser had to pull out of a quick lap at the Island yesterday as a Kangaroo was bounding along the track he also hit a seagull though he believed the seagull survived, its only a few days before MotoGp arrive at the Island I will arrive the day before with Pansy my Red Heeler cattle dog to help chase the Kangaroos out through the fences, the MotoGp bike is much faster than a Superbike it would be fatal if a MotoGp bike hit a Kangaroo, ECU or traction control wouldn't help in this situation, perhaps the maker that designed the Kangaroo Bar for a motor bike could have some extra sales down Cowes way shortly.
Ace27 did you race at The Creek in the rain before Christmas????

In world war one 'we' were neutral, while millions were slaughtered a mere 100 kilometers south of our border,
I can drag the American Independence war into it if you want, Adam and Eve or the final episode of the Muppet Show,
the butchering of the pygmees in the Mboto Gorge or the Boshin War, you choose :p
