don't think so chu... Sete was on a 500cc when he won at valencia in 2001 (4 strokes didn;t start in motogp until 2002)

Both 2 and 4 strokes ran in 2001. Remember McWilliams on the Proton thingy? 2002 all 2 strokes were then banned and all bikes were 4 strokes. Sete did win in 2001, but on a 500.

In 2001, Rossi on a yellow NSR500 don't he? It is his 1st and the last for 500cc title.

If i'm not wrong, the last 3 of 500cc champions are:

1999 Alex Criville
2000 Kenny Roberts Jr
2001 Valentino Rossi

2002 was a mix between 2-stroke and 4-stroke. And the 1st highest Suzuki achiement was 2nd at Suzuka wet race by wildcard rider Akira Ryo on Dunlop.

Zydon's right. There were no four strokes in 2001.

2001 was the last ever 500cc title, which is part of the reason why Rossi was so desperate to win it.

Gibernau's one and only suzuki win was on the 500cc two stroke at valencia 2001.
