I see the loathing goes deep Ace, calling him a criminal and such.
The Italian tax office is after Capirossi too, for the second time, as well as various football players.
In Rossis case (and Caprrossis, he lives in Monaco) they are dealing with someone that lives abroad, he has a house in London and one in Ibiza. They try to make a case over cars he has registrered in Italy and thus try to 'prove' he lives there,
which is bull**** because he already left in his last year of 250 when it was becoming impossible to walk the streets in Italy because of all the fans chasing him.
He will work it out, don't accuse someone if you don't know the facts.

MOTOGP » Rossi: My dream is to stay

During Friday's Fiat Yamaha team launch, at Turn in Italy, Valentino Rossi unsurprisingly faced questions about his post-2008 plans.

First! It''s nice to see something about Rossi. For a long time it''s been nothing but Stoner and Ducati - where was the love last year when Nicky won? You didn''t hear much from him. For sure Rossi will have his crown back! If

Second! Good on you Spacelord :)

I hope he stays at Yamaha because that would mean they are competitive again,
2007 was a sobering experience for the factory, their racing spirit is undoubtedly still there ;)

Lets hope the M1 will at least be competitive this year, it does not need to be the best bike for Rossi to win the championship, he proved that when he first went to yamaha. He can't however win HIS crown back, it belongs to whoever is the current champion who may very well retain it. The two makes of tyres may be a real problem, as the tyres are part of complete bike/rider package, will yamaha develope the bike with bridgestone and rossi in mind at the expense of the other riders.

I heard a rumer on another site that Bridgestone were fuming they were told to take Rossi or be excluded for a single tyre rule. So they intend to give Rossi not the best tyres and wont develope anything for him but will concentrate on the same riders they did last year leaving Rossi to get "whatevers left".

If so would you be happy then?
If they are the professional organisation that they have proven to be he will get equal stuff.
Would be a lot more fun to watch too, him and Casey on the same.
His input in development of Michelins has been huge, however Edwards stated that Rossi used much harder tyres than all the others and he (Colin) would not be able to ride them. He expects that development of the Michelins will go more in the direction Pedrosa and Hayden point choose (i.e. softer) and that he too can benefit from that.

Yes, yes I would. For at least 1 year as punishment for his blackmail, unsportsmen behavior and bringing the sport into dissrepute.
AND no deal on his tax avoidence, $120M straight up or jail? How much is $120M worth in jail time?????? 5, 10 years????? I dont know but thats a lot of money?
Gromm I dont think he should even be in motogp after what he has done, the guy gets away with murder, but its about money and TV rights not whats fair or right and wrong, so play on. Karma will have its way with him eventually.
If the Italian church goes after you, you must be doing something wrong????

"it does not need to be the best bike for Rossi to win the championship, he proved that when he first went to yamaha" :? - I think Rossi has always had the best (all round) bike until last season from what 3rd party riders have said when comparing the machines. I don't know why he has such a reputation for dragging bad machinery up the grid, it's common knowledge Burgess' and Rossi's influence in dev' made for a much less "fussy" and rider friendly machine.

What are you comparing him to? His team-mates? Well I saw Stoner destroy his team-mates; and all the Rossi fans credit the Duke for it....

I'd like to see Rossi and Stoner given equal billing on a Duke in '09 to shutup fan boys.

Oh and the tyre conspiracies; getting your excuses in early i see because I'm sure a massive international company like Bridgestone are willing to blow the massive marketing opportunity of supplying Rossi with tyres, just to annoy him.

Even though they may dislike Rossi for his poor sportsmanship, I'm sure they must realise the guy is as much a brand as a rider.

err um Since when did Rossi credit anything but himself???

First it was Rossi just needs a bike, then it was Rossi just need his special overnight Michelins back, then it was a bad Yamaha, now he needs EQUAL equipment.....since when??????

Rossi may pay lip service but deep down he will always believe it was all him.
