Still funny to see that Vale is a bit complaining that he hasn't enough power and Melandri that he has to much power...
But I am sure they both will handle it. Again a strong performance by Randy, altough I believe we haven't seen the best out of Casey and Vale yet!!

Well said Kees.....these two guys have injuries and this is not racing yet. True champions spend the time to set up their bikes not go out and do fast lap times during testing.....Casey was on the pace with race simulation and Randy was to but fell.....sounds all to much like the same old story !!! I still think it will be the same top 3 with the odd suprise thrown in !!!

Gee "Who Cares" ... U post like a know-it-all with all the facts ... then Nicky tells us he used the new engine & Randy tells us he used a quali tyre!
Please spare us the superior knowledge next time.

As 4 the rest of U ... JT is 11th while the other Yamaha's are 2nd, 3rd & 4th ... & out of the 20 riders, he's ahead of 3 test riders ... I dont get why ur all going on about how well he's doing. He's a second off his team-mate, I suggest he pull his finger out & race the bike ... he's not on a breakfast run!

A 1000cc SBK has almost the same power output as an 800cc GPBK but the SBK has loads of torque more. The GPBK's are lighter than the SBK and are "prototype like" optimised. The GPbase is for a profesional racer only. An SBK still is a production bike base.

There are things you can change but not to the extend that an SBK would resemble a GPBK. I guess that is the reason that the effective on track (read on the limit) difference is less compared to a 250cc GPBK. The SBK still needs "muscling" around.

The difficult part used to be the 500cc 2-stroke power and the carbon disks. Only the latter are an issue for both SBK and 250 riders. The TC made an already easier 4-stroke "very easy"..

Purely out of interest, why would the transition from 250 to 800 be easier than from a 1000 superbike. A 250 is a 2cyl 2-stroke with few electronic gizmos, thats built for a midget and weighs about as much as Keira Knightly in silk lingerie. While in contrast both 800s and 1000s are both 4-cyl, 4-stroke, a much closer power output and power delivery, both have the electronic gizmos, with the 1000 having the greater weight and dimensions. Having ridden various 2-stroke and 4-stroke road bikes I know that a GSXR750 is much closer to a 1000GSXR than an RGV250. Any thoughts...

Again, Yamaha looks great in preseason testing. Unlike last year however, they have a much better measure of their rivals and a greater understanding of the 800's in general. Let's hope the 2nd-gen M1 800 is a capable tester AND racer.

The Morgue: 125's and 250's don't start their practise in Valencia (i think) until tomorrow. That's the previous test's times on the MotoGP official site.
