I think it is not just the bike with Casey. As the collective keep saying "where are the other Ducatis". The Ducati is fast, no question but it does seem that Casey is the only one to be able to squeeze that bit extra out of it. I think both Casey and Ducati were both very lucky to have found this marriage made in heaven. Casey needs this package to exploite his abilities and Ducati needs Casey to exploite their bike.

MOTOGP » Stoner: It couldn't have been better!

Casey Stoner's debut on the Ducati Desmosedici GP8 may have ended with an injured shoulder last November at Jerez, but the MotoGP world champion was all smiles after a formidable return to action at Sepang this week.

Mike- The sane Rossi fans hmmmm are they the unbiased ones?....easy to spot the difference as their knowledge of the pre Rossi era is more evident as is their analyses and respect for the current champ.

Football then for the Morgue et al etc then Iam guessing? :p

I'm going to presume all the disagrees on the posts praising Stoner are from the Rossi fans, To all those individuals, what exactly do you want? A rule saying every rider must throw themselves out of your big heros' way and let him win? It's not like me to praise Australians but i'm sick of the amount of crap Stoner has had to take from the moron Rossi fraternity just for doing what he's pay to do! WIN. To all the sane Rossi fans i apologise but your mates belong in a a premiership football ground.

Didn't Marco Melandri sign a two year deal at Ducati? RDP is fro 2 years at LCR.
If Marco doesn't get to grips with the bike I think they prefer an Italian over a Frechman, my guess is Nicolá Canepa,
19 years of age, Italian, testrider at Ducati. He will get wildcard appearances this year already (at Italy probably)

Nicky is a bad HONDA development rider, Honda saw the tide changing (they were pushing it) so they knew a small rider would benefit more from a decrease in cc's and probably used is info to help his own team while the big picture was mulded around pinky pedrobot (thanks Zydon).
So its not exactky that nicky is bad just that honda knew they were never ever going in his direction.
I wonder if RDP is going to replace Marco in harasing the HRC team riders??????

I sincerely doubt either of them is a great development rider in his own right,
Honda has the problem that they are betting on two different horses within one team,
They are physichally different too, Hayden is much bigger and a musclepacked powerhouse that works out like a madman.
He was allright playing second violin to Rossi at Honda, now he has to pull (push?) the cart, different story.
Things may change if they find a new rider to go alongside Pedrosa in 2009, my bet is on Dovizioso.
