Here in the UK, Colin Edwards is HUGELY popular. At Donnington last year (and the last couple of years before), he got most cheers after Rossi. What does that tell you? Yawn all you want but like it or not, charisma and personality plays a big part of MotoGP, it's what keeps riders popular with the fans. Yes we all know Stoner is better in MotoGP (Colin was genius in WSB though), if Colin had had Stoner or Pedrosa's personality, he would have gone a year or 2 ago. His personality keeps the money coming in! We love Edwards!

Good to see Yamaha have a clear strategy for engine development,
they will need it in the coming year :)

@Eigor: Yet another useless comment...yawn!!!

In fact Colin was up on the sharp end AND he basically "never" crashes. With the Michelins stickier than last year he might be in battle with all others.

At least it confirms that the Grand Prix '08 could be a "Grand Cru" too. :)

Like Mamola and Hayden, Edwards gives the american "attitude" a positive spin...

I like remembering "honest" Colin sticking up his middlefinger in the camera sitting in the graveltrap besides a grinning Akira Yanagawa both having crashed on "unflagged" oil left behind. :)

Colin is a genuine character.

Character - well thats subject to personal opinion! Testing/Developing and qualifying - Yeah he's not a bad 'ol boy. But When it comes to racing a GP "motorsickle" he sucks - FACT!!!

I would say in today's motogp it more of an advantage to come up from the 250's than from superbike racing, the ex superbike riders haven't had the best of times in motogp i.e edwards, bayliss two dominant wsbk riders, where as the 250 riders like pedrosa, stoner have done well possibly cos it could be harder to ride a 250 now than a 800 with all it's electronics.

Fair enough Eigor, but one thing's for sure: he's earning more money than you or I will in a lifetime and probably doesn't give a flying toss what you or I think... FACT! Good old Colin!

Colin is incredibly funny, he has been an asset to the MotoGP grid ever since his switch from WSBK
we need people like him to counter the humourless riders ;-)
