Looks as if the World Champ is the one to beat again.......fastest at both tracks now on race tyres !!! Good to see Melandri up there as well......Ducatis 1, 2 this year :) :) :)

With the obvious absences from the test I think front times will be a touch irrelevent... and we would all expect casey stoner to top the list of those who are there... much much more interesting is rookie battle...
3. Alex de Angelis RSM Honda Gresini (B) 1min 30.688 secs
4. Andrea Dovizioso ITA JiR Team Scot (M) 1min 30.701 secs
5. James Toseland GBR Yamaha Tech 3 (M) 1min 30.864 secs
It is missing Lorenzo but i think its safe to say he would be there with them aswell!

If they are all race tyre times then its going to be a good scrap for the "rookie" honours in 2008! :)

They are all race tyres except Edwards. Casey did 73 laps an set his time on the last one. Yeah it is good to see the rookies up there as well, I am sure the times will come down a bit.......they say good weather for the rest of the test !!!

James Toseland on the b-spec engined M1 - is faster than Marco Melandri.

Possibly points to Michelin (Yamaha) race tyres better than (Ducati) Bridgestones?

I think Pauls hit this one on the head - who would have expected 3 rookies in that position at only the second test?

Let's hope if it's another season watching Casey Stoner "do an F1 - yawn!" The rookies will add a little more spice, they might turn out to be the most interesting riders to watch - but who (of them) do you think will take the most podiums?

Colin is doing better now he's not under Rossi's shadow and James Toseland is obviously benefiting from colins experience.

I didn't call the rest of the field irrelevent... I said that I think the top times will be a bit irrelevent due to the missing competitors, and Stoner should be up front really, just highlighting the fact that with Fiat Yamaha and Pedrosa not there it is more a test where times from the rookie guys should be watched... :)
