i laugh every time someone mention banning electronics in motorsport.

firstly, electronics are there for all the rides; melandri is on the same bike and is struggling (which to be completely honest has really surprised me). the playing field is level.

secondly, it's like the argument in F1 where people argue that in the 60-70's where we had 4 wheel drift, powerslides etc that the racing was more exciting, and that electronics are to blame. technology moves forward and Dorna/F1 would be sticking their heads in the sand if they didn't embrace these new technologies.

the bottom line is: anything that makes lap times lower is progress. the best riders/drivers will always rise to the top.

I would be interested to read the reports that you quote of Stoner telling Dorna not to remove the electronics. Do you honestly believe that Rossi and his groupies are not using electronics as an excuse as he and they have with top speed and tyres and long straights and his engine breaking down and a problem with his front tyre and ....

Rossi has been riding with electronics longer than Stoner has and seeing as we are speculating here I speculate that Stoner is probably the best placed rider if electronics were taken away completely. If you knew anything about his career you would know that he honed his skills in dirt tracking which is all about throttle control.

Looks like Stoner is showing why his was champion last year, great to see JT up there, as for the aussies cricket team, they are so good because of a guy from Tassie leading them!, remember wally campbell? great rider, from tassie I believe :) :) (you guys from the north island also have a few good riders ;))

Parker Parker read this: "World champion Casey Stoner, who claimed last year's title on a Ducati choc-full of systems including traction control, believes aids are an essential part of the sport, while five-time title winner Valentino Rossi says the opposite".sorry i would have posted the web adress but the site doesn't allow me..I don't know why. i took it from uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/23012008/58/season-2008-riders-decide-future-electronics.html

You Stoner fans are abit frighten about this TC because your trying to say that Stoner didn't have his turn on (trying to blow sunshine where it isn't). Didn't have his TC turn on or turn down lower than others come on boy WAKE UP

well it's actually the first time i post a comment so i haven't seen previous discusions.anyhow i know stoner is a very talented rider,no one claims the opposite.but if it weren't for his bike he would have never won...Rossi is still the best rider on the grid.he has something that noone else has.I've never seen Stoner fight like Rossi.I mean if sb overtakes Stoner he never fights back.i don't know why this is happening.he is only good if he disappears in the front with no other rider ahead of him.Every time sb fights with him he loses.
