it shows how easier the bikes are to ride now than years ago all the newcomers are straight on the pace, which in years past didn't happen unless they were an exceptional talent.

MOTOGP » de Angelis: I'm a top rider!

MotoGP rookie Alex de Angelis may have slipped to seventh on the third and final day of testing at Phillip Island - having been third, and then second, during the first two days - but that didn't dampen the spirits of the Honda Gresini pilot.

What makes you think that this guy isnt an exceptional talent!??? He may have been eternally second in 250s but anyone who actually watched the races and not just the end result would know that this guy is unbelievable!! Great to watch, great riding style, very exciting!! Mark my words this guy is another stoner!!!!

if you read what I put baylisstic I said all newcomers are on the pace not just de angelis, look at hopper for instance he came in at the end of the 2 stroke era and he has only started getting at the sharp end last season, Hopper is possibly a future world champ and when he first came in he wasn't at the sharp end. In my book it shows the ease of the machines now in comparison to 4 or 5 years ago.

De Angelis has always been edged out by others in battles. He is fast but to timid to claim his win.
Friendly boy though, always a big smile and now he's learned English through a crashcourse (forgive me, had to write that)
we may actually hear from his mouth what he is on about ;)
That is provided he reaches the podium and get's an interview (doubtfull as there are others dying to get there)
