No reason to beat up on Rossi for going the Bridgestone route. Did he and Michelin exchange wedding vows or something that I'm not aware of? No, the round black thingys he was provided with last year didn't perform the way he needed them to so he decided to try some different ones, period.

MOTOGP » Edwards: 20 laps, 20 seconds faster

Colin Edwards left the Phillip Island test having set the fifth fastest final day time, with a qualifying tyre, while also putting his Michelin race rubber through a 20-lap run (seven laps short of a full race distance).

I can see Col preforming better at Tech 3 and with Michelins support in 08. Consider Col now is the most experienced and #1 Yamaha/Michelin runner..... I reckon he would be quietly confident for 08,
I Hope he is the fastest Yamaha runner in 08, hes an honorary Aussie so gets my vote :)

Blitz Moods wrote: "It inevitably has to get to name calling and rider bashing, not facts or spirited discussion,"

To which The Morgue replies: "I agree Blitz Moods, how can we get back to that?"

With all due respect, Morgue, are you genuinely serious? Take a good look at the last six months' worth of your own posts, man. Try changing your style with those who disagree with you, especially those who are not Rossi fans. You and Gina need only look in the mirror to find two of the biggest culprits in "how do we get back to that?" I am not the only one who quit posting because of the sheer volume of disrespectful abuse you shovel out with alarming regularity.

You are right Whocares,

so 27 laps on second faster would have brought him to 41'20.317 total, thats 3rd instead of 9th.
Not bad but pretty theoretical ofcourse because Colin is is not the only one improving.
We will certainly see these times topple again prior to the 2008 Philip Island race.

Jonny and The Morgue, pls also remember that a normal race distance is 27 laps, not 20, so who knows what would have occurred in the last 7 laps? Tires worn out? Fuel starvation?

Colin is benefitting now of having a bike which is ready, like Hayden when he switches back to his 2007 engine, or like satellite Honda riders.

But when Rossi and Lorenzo will have finished setting up the air valved engine, the Tech3 machines will suffer, and we all know Colin will not be willing to fight unless it's for a victory...

I see Toseland ahead of Edwards as soon as this year, because Colin will fade as each season.
