Rog. You don't know how it feels? You're probably an armchair PS2-biker yourself?

I guess you need to go out on a bike and ride it for 300 km in the current warm february month( 8°C) in jeans and a leather jacket to understand how it feels.

So Rog. if you live in In the north of Europe ( or the United States of England ;))

1. Get in your car
2. Open ALL the windows
3. Turn off the heating completely.
4. Go for a drive for an hour.
6. (Don't cheat putting on a warm clothes or the heating)

Then get back here and tell us about it :)

:)

I always considered the Qatar round a "strange duck in the pond" which will cause some to be less, others more agressive. We'll see how it is come raceday and we can see it live, but I would really avoid extrapolating too much the results of these events untill the end of the year. Motor racing in any form is not an exact sport...

"this is so dumb - are they gonna race with temperatures at 15 c degrees? that is just not right"

Well it won't be the first time they have raced in those sort of temps.....

France last year, air temp 13, track 16 and it was also wet as well.... I'm sure if you go back and check you would probably find a few more examples over the years of "cold" races in the WC races (including some when it was cold and dry).

It's not like it's about 4 degrees and snowing... now that's a dumb time to be racing ;)

Harry you have been taken in by the fake Roger, I don't own a PS2, Xbox or any other of those little boys toys, I do however have a Yamaha MT-01 and do know what its like to ride in the cold. It was 6°C this morning when I went for a litle cobweb blow out ride this morning in GREAT BRITAIN ;)

Technical question please:

1) Is Lorenzo's engine a higher spec engine than Toseland?

2) Is Lorenzo's 'works' M1, altogether a better package than Toseland's TECH-3 bike?

Thank you Moto Gp fans.

Grumpy

1) Yes - Rossi and Lorenzo have a development engine which Toseland and Edwards should get later in the season - it's a few k faster on the straights, but I have no idea what effect it has on the lap time.

2) Theoretically yes, but the package includes the team and some riders perform better with some teams than others, That last fraction of a percent that it takes to win once you've got the physical package is in the mind. I don't know which is stronger mentally out of Toseland or Lorenzo, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

Last January I was carried away by some mates and we went for a trip somewhere on a mountain. It was cold (about 6C) but after about 170 Km we found a tavern. We chatted around the oven for an hour or two and then... it was already 17:15. By the time we set off for the return trip the sun set and BOY OH BOY was it cold THEN! I don't know the exact temperature but I had to squeeze my knees on the tank constantly in order to stop myself rattling uncontrollably. By the time I got home (about 2 hours later) I could hardly coordinate not only my movements, but my thoughts as well. I took a hot bath and went out again. The temperature reading in the center of the town at the time was 4C...
