It's got to be an improvement over that hound he rode in the first round.

Thank you for that Harryx,
I was moved when seeing the short clip about Pitt Beirer on their website.

I just checked the "for sale" sign that Nicky held up.

Actually it was a link to

3w.wingsforlife.com/ebay

to buy stuff to support spinal cord research...(until March 30th)

-Coulthard's F1 car(!)
-An autographed skateboard from Ryan Sheckler
-Helmets from Shaun White, Dani Pedrosa, Nicky Hayden, and Thomas Morgenstern
-Cyril Despres' victory motorcycle from the Dakar Rally 2007
-A flight with Red Bull Air Race champion Mike Mangold (all inclusive)
-Both a signed kite and board from Robby Naish
-An autographed jump suit from Felix Baumgartner
-A friendly match with the Red Bull Salzburg kickers

All proceeds to go to Wings for Life.

Sorry for the rumour ;)

canuck, the "For Sale" sign was a joke that obviously was beyond you. he's riding an '07 bike that he doesn't plan on riding much longer, thus its "for sale". jokes are never as funny when they need to be explained. thanx moron.

Chu Chu, I am not interested in going back and forth on Nicky's riding. The only point I am making is that he did not have access to the same chassis that Dani had. On the Crash site, there is an interview where Nicky discusses that fact. He also says, he hopes to have it that chassis for Jerez.

When it's all said and done, every rider in the series is at the top of their game. Some may be better than others, but they are all extremely talented, and vastly skilled. Their development styles may vary, their preferences in how a bike behaves may vary, but every one of them deserves respect at least for what the can do.

How they perform *off* the track, however, is often what colors our opinions. Is the quiet, self-effacing guy your cup of tea? Or is the brash, primadonna more your style? That's all up to the spectator really...

So..all that said, just watch the sport and appreciate it for what it is. It's just entertainment, in the end. Right?

Dakota... i agree with you about how hard he works but:
when i look at his record the firs thing that comes to me is:
Alex Criville and Kenny Roberts JR.
they both won the championship in some kind of vacuum,no real dominant rider that year and then the year after finish nowhere.
i hope Hayden will do better this year but i don't think so. he will always be good for a podium somewhere.
good luck to him ;)

Why anyone enjoys rider bashing I'll never know. Hayden worked his backside off during winter tests (took part in every single test) he rode the 2007 bike with the 2008 chassis, the 2008 pneumatic valve bike, anything Honda threw his way he tried it out. Even Michelin gave him hundreds of race and qualifying tires to try out, you name it he probably tested it, doing twice as many laps as anyone, the guy even swept part of the Sepang track after a rain shower. In Qatar, Pedrosa made the right choice and Hayden the wrong one, its pretty simple and it does happen, does he have to be crucified for this?
