It makes sense to get points of view from two skilled riders like Bayliss and Biaggi. These two riders have opposed riding styles, Bayliss likes to wrestle the bike and Biaggi likes finese/smoothness. Someone mentioned how easy the Honda and Yamaha are to ride fast. In their current form I'd agree but the Yamaha wasn't that way until Rossi and Edwards came on board to change that bike. The development these bikes have had from veterans has helped the newcomers tremendously. If the bikes weren't so well sorted do you think that Lorenzo, Dovi, or Toseland would be doing so well, I think not.

Thats exactly why Troy and Gazza would be my choice as wrestling the Ducati appears more likely required to get that extra 11/10ths required. The Honda and Yamaha require less physical input it would seem with more riders achieving consistent results. Troy has the time aboard the Duc where as Gazza with the dirt track back ground also but less time on the Duc. Regardless the more testing by a variety of riders the better ;)

Yep Marty, the more different styles the more different directions good one.....Sounds to me like ducati have spent alot of money on that bike and it's no good. Stoner flattered them last year but it's clear it was already close to it's development limit.. I reckon the only thing they'll find out is that nobody can figure out how Stoner won on it.. including the boy himself....They need an experienced rider alongside Stoner to aid development week in week out.
The flip side is if they make it work for everyone else will Stoner still be competitive on it????that's some headache.. :? :? :?

Or maybe they should just get some of these self appointed exspert yellow koolaid Stonerphobes to ride the bike??? sounds to me like they would get just what they wanted at a very quick trip back to the sand box head first... :D

P.S. At least have a crack at using ya grey matter for a change and make one constructive suggestion? Iam positive It could only help your cause ya know ........ Funny stuff though, so feel free to keep at it otherwise ;)

So Marty are you saying that Biaggi who has won 13 500cc Motogp races and 4 250cc World championships couldn't help at all? I know there are a bunch of Biaggi detractors out there but his results speak for themseles. And if it wasn't for Rossi, he would have won 2 Motogp 500cc World Championships. Is he a great deelopment rider? Not really sure about that because at the time Rossi was the only one who was beating Biaggi.

Max Biaggi, the experienced former MotoGP star who is currently competing for Ducati in the superbikes championship, has revealed that he recently confirmed his willingness and availability to the Italian factory should they require him to test their current MotoGP prototype.

'What I can say is that they have asked me to be available to do this test and I have told them that I will be,´ the Italian rider told motogp.com, before stating that a date is likely to be set for Mugello in May.

Livio Suppo, Ducati Marlboro´s MotoGP Project Director, recently acknowledged that Biaggi and Troy Bayliss, who also rides a Ducati superbike in the production series, had both been put on standby to test the Desmosedici GP8 – with both having experience of premier class MotoGP riding.
