Good to see Rossi back at the top again...Good to see Stoner the moaner blame everybody but himself...Would have liked to see Colin finish on the podium. This year is shaping up better than last year now that the bikes are all equal or there abouts on power, proving that the Ducati was a flash in the pan last year and that Moaner,,,sorry Stoner isn't really that exceptional a rider as some blinkered people thought..... :p

MOTOGP » Rossi smashes losing streak in China

Valentino Rossi smashed a seven-race losing streak with his first ever Bridgestone victory in an action-packed Chinese Grand Prix, as the Italian became the fourth different MotoGP race winner in as many 2008 events.

I don't think Shang Hai is a 'Bridgestone track'. Last year Rossi showed a great fight using Michelin, but Yamaha lack almost 20 kph in term of top speed on the straight track from Ducati. so it was the limit, Rossi can do no further.

to tell the truth I just can't believe Rossi take his first win with Bridgestone tyre this fast, ESPECIALLY on a circuit with a 1.2 KM straight track. maybe it's because Yamaha had improved well, or Rossi had begin to adapt with Bridgestone tyre, I don't mind.

I hope equal performance of Bridgestone and Michelin, and the most important no more extreme top speed gap, then the MotoGP race will be very intersting to see.

Rubbish its not unpredictable he would get lucky maybe once or twice again before retirement..... In a perfect clown world his team mate and rivals would always be hampered one way or another. Show me a race one on one with any of the current young crop and the clown will throw in the towel and claim one excuse or another if he does not have a technical advantage... on that you can bet! OR change tyre brand on.....

too funny :p

Errr... by the way. Who at crash.net proof reads by chance? Paragraph 5, "Having broken his longest losing STEAK......" If anyone else spotted this and has already mentioned it - I basically haven't read every post here.

As for the whining Spaniard and his 'over revving engine', funny how Rossi broke the previous lap record - oh, and who happened to have held it ...

Also, as the spaniard weighs nothing, doesn't that give him an unfair advantage over the other riders ? Get him to wear lead soled boots or what ever so as to make it fairer LOL. Oh, and if he ever does manage a smile, will his face really crack?

LOL folks. Rossi ROCKS, win or lose :).

[Posted by Kees de Vries : Chu Chu, The better Honda and Yamaha packages doesn't explain the clear fact that Casey is consistenly slower than last year, 11 seconds!! compared to last year in China only. Either it is mechanical or mental but in both cases they are (Ducati and Casey) proffesionals and if cleared out they will come out a lot stronger..]

When there is no real pressure, people can do things very good,
but when there is some real pressure, people can easily make mistakes.

so is Stoner and his Ducati team. to come in a race with a need to win (some pressure), Yamaha and Honda both are in a good shape to fight at the front (real pressure), such an unease mind can inflict Stoner :p

China 2008 really make me laugh my ass off to see the result.
I always hope, Yamaha or Honda can reduce the top speed gap from Ducati,
to make a real pressure.

It looks like in this year, Yamaha has already be able to lay down a serious challenge with it's pneumatic valve system, with both Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi capable to fight at front.
while Honda still struggling with it's spring valve system, Dani Pedrosa with his tiny sized (less weight of course) already helped Honda to fight at front (poor the other Hondas).

And now I wait the pneumatic valve system from Honda, so Ducati/Yamaha will face more pressure from the other Honda. that would be a fair fight for those 3.

Nigel I agree that Rossi showed his bold and risk-taking character by going to Bridgestone but he hasn't proved yet that he made the right choice. It's too early to clearly see that.

We are going to have to wait for more races, especially those that he was always strong at but where Michelin were also strong, to see what happens. To me Mugello (a Michelin but also very Rossi track) will be one of the most interesting races of the season, provided it's dry.

Good points Nigel and others. Glad to see Rossi win a race and I hope he continues winning. Pedrosa did a great job as did Lorenzo with his injuries. It was really nice to see Melandri back up the board. With Pedrosa doing so well with the normal valve engine it will be interesting to see how fast the new Honda pneumatic engine will be. Will it rival or surpass the Ducati in terms of power. If I were Yamaha and other teams I'd keep on my toes because Honda with all it's resources will surely make a better and faster engine. Now we're back to an interesting series lets hope it continues.
