The comments saying Casey is a one hit wonder because he hasn't won in the lesser categories are simply foolish.
As are the TC comments - ignorant at best.

Casey was always right with Pedrosa - who always had the best bike in the field.
Stoner did exceptionally well considering he never had a competitive bike until 2007.
Remember he put the LCR on pole in his second race, and very nearly won his third race.

Rossi is arguably the greatest rider ever and Stoner - to this point - is the only rider that can take the fight to him.
Last year it was Rossi keeping up with an inferior bike and this year Casey is doing just that.
Anyone who states Rossi is past it or Stoner never had it is a tool.

Now when did we last see a rider enter the MotoGP scene from the "test rider" back door? Maybe we are for a counter zeroing...

Oh Casey...
Still, if Rossi was testing today also, he would masterfully have shown you the way.
Just keep pushing hard. I really like it when you do. The times come tumbling down :D

Carbonator that's correct. Monty smokes

Monday Rossi 1min 41.857 QF Tire
Monday Stoner 1min 41.533 QF Tire GP9 early prototype using default GP8 base setup (not testing for times but ride-ability) bahaha
Tuesday Stoner 1min 42.180 race Tire GP8

That would suggest Rossi QF Tire was 0.323 faster than Stoner on a race tire.

Rossi was masterly embarrassment more like it that is probably why he left early.

At the end of the day Casey's boyish good looks will always win on or off the track.
This is all I have to think about should he not win on any given Sunday.
I really envy his missus. She's cute but not as cute as my boy

Lets just start by saying "I'm no Ducati FAN." In Superbikes I hate the way they are given special rules to make them win. But in MotoGP there are on level grounds agianst companies way larger then they are. Ducati are the true underdogs.

All last year people where saying Stoner only won due to the bike... Last year Marco Melandri on a Saterlite Honda beat Stoner at one event & was able to push him along a couple of times. Now Melandri is back racing West 2 to 3 seconds off pace.

What does Stoner have to do get respect from people?
Is he better then Rossi? I'm not saying but out of all the past champions still racing MotoGP he is the only one able to take the fight to Rossi each time.

Marco's comments about the GP9 suggest he will not be wearing red next year. If the bike is similar to the GP8 and he can't ride either then why would they keep him or why would he want to stay?

Looks like they will be looking for a rider that can hang it all out like Stoner does for 2009! If they do then development will surge ahead with 2 competitive riders on the bike rather than the current situation which may as well be a single rider team. Actually it is worse because Ducati are wasting all this time and effort trying to find a solution that will work for Marco.

Darren you are right. Melandri ownly takes the fight to the kitty litter :D
Only Rossi is without any doubt way better than Casey.
Casey is young still and when Crusty the most winningist world champion does quit
everyone else will have a sniffing chance. Only then will Prince Casey HRH Australia be able to become a multiple champion, maybe even a legend. Not as much as Rossi admittedly as he is worshiped all around the world. Only me and Adriana love Casey as much. I really hope that changes some day....

To all Casey Stoner fans. You fell in love with a one hit wonder. The reasons are simple:
You hate Rossi so much for winning that anyone who managed to beat him became your Champ. This has clouded your reasoning/judgement which is now bordering on insanity. You have put him on a pedestal and made him like some racing god without him even having a winning resume. I am sure you will all go digging up his past winning records, but it pales to some of the other riders racing right now. Currently in the Motogp record book he has 1 WC, so is Nickey Hayden. Rossi is now on a quest to surpass Agostini's incredible tally of 122 wins. He needs 32 and counting.
Forgive me for liking a winning resume.
