Marc(not that Marc) the Honda was designed around Jockey Boy. Nicky (being an average sized adult)has stated more than once he's simply not comfortable on it. I hope for his sake he gets an opportunity to ride for a manufacturer willing to design a bike for a former World Champion and not his halfwit gnome teammate who almost cost him that championship.
Until the governing body imposes a minimum weight for bike and rider it's no wonder Pedrosa is winning.

MOTOGP » Hayden gets pneumatic for Donington!

HRC had said it was unlikely to be ready in time, but Nicky Hayden will make his pneumatic-valve grand prix debut at Donington Park.

This can only be good for the championship and especially Dani, the more testing time the bike gets the better the engine will become. Hopefully we will see a down to the wire championship!

It''ll be interesting to see how much difference a 1000 rev increase makes to Nicky this weekend - wonder what that equates to in horsepower?

Personally I doubt its going to make much difference, from the footage in qualifying and free practice over the last couple of races, he''s struggling to keep the bike planted and smooth compared to his "charismatic" team mate....I watched the front chattering in most of the corners - at least that''s what it looked like. Pity. Deserves better....but pedrosa is smoother

Well, Donington is a handling circuit as it doesn't have any long straights so we'll
see how it fairs. The extra 1000 revs won't be of much use here or at Assen next week either, but if it means that Nicky can get it handling the way he likes then that would be something.

ABOUT FREAKIN TIME HONDA!
GO NICKY GO!
can't believe they are so far behind with pneumatic development.
hopefully this benefits all the honda riders very soon.

But if Nicky s problem is the electronics, then 1000 extra revs will help him switch em off without going short on powet

Good point chu chu. Wish Hayden would dish more on what's going on at HRC. It's interesting how something like valve design can affect handling so much. Why is that? These guys are so sensitive: even a guy like Hayden who relies more on muscle than finesse. Should be a very interesting weekend.

indeed. but seeing how poorly things are going for nicky on the spring engine then he s nothing to lose. im sure if this new engine was significantly more powerful than the spring one, dani woild ise it too.
or maybe dani just feels it s not that necessary on a track like donnington ... well see

People said it's not a horsepower track but the way the gears are set up more horsepower has a positive effect (albeit not quite as great) on tight tracks as well as open ones.

I expect Nicky to get a good grid position but slip back (as is customary) in the race - but by not quite as much as usual.

I seem to recall Nicky saying this years frame was built around the pneumatic engine and this is what gives it better feel. weight distribution? or what.
