If he has another ride already lined up for after Laguna then he should grab it with both hands. But if he has absolutely nothing lined up then there's no way he should quit. He should stay and give the Ducati a good go until the end of the season. He's nothing to loose any more and what GP rider wants to be sat watching the race on a Sunday. Who's to say that he may accidentally find the Stoner touch. Guintoli now seems to be heading in the right direction. Malandri is a good guy so either way I hope it works out for him. :)

Marco obviously is a complete DUNCE! How can he be trolling around with the green slime while his team-mate is running away at the front. Remember when Wayne Rainey & Eddie Lawson both raced YZR500s. One was not at the back while the other was out front. Same with Gardner and Lawson on Hondas. Both were front-runners. So here we have Ducati with an absolute marvel of a motorcycle, and an Italian rider. Normally this would be a marriage made in heaven. But face facts. Marco can not set-up a motorcycle. So what is he doing in MotoGP?

So how do you explain his 250 world championship, 5 motogp wins, umpteen podiums, wc runner-up in 2005 and top 5 wc placings in the last 2 years...random chance???

Your post certainly is "baron" of any supporting evidence...

Have to agree with Van Helsing, your comments are immature and quite ignorant!

Some racers don't gel with some bikes it's as simple as that:
Most likely electronics, it's a well known fact that Stoner use's his electronis to 100% his advantage where as alot of riders do not like it, Melandri obviously being one of them. Even Capirossi didn't use antwhere near as much TC as stoner when they overlapped their lap charts I forget in which bike mag it was shocking the difference.

You can't take away Melandri's talent just like that in your posts lately, you either very young or a **** racing fan in my opinion.

Finally!
But why did it take half a season to come to this conclusion...?
Marco is obviously a rider that can perform well as "privateer", i.e. on bikes offering only limited adjustment possibilities, or bikes that have already been developed by more talented test riders (remember the Aprilia 250 by Rossi or the Honda by Rossi and Sete...?).
However, on a factory bike offering more adjustment options, the rider himself has got to be a somewhat talented test rider or at least know what kind of feeling he is chasing. Since all of Marcos "true" factory rides (Yamaha as well as Ducati) turns into ****, this is obviously not Marco.

I can sort some of this out by citing Australian Motorcycle news again. In an article on page 119 of the current edition by Colin Young it is stated as fact (and AMCN is usually well informed) that Marco has had his contract finalised as of round 11 (Laguna).

At round 12 (Czech) he will be riding the third Kawasaki normally used by Olivier Jacque as a test bike and shall continue on with them (team green) in 2009.

Sete will be riding the second factory Duc and the only part of the article acknowledged as informed speculation is that Hayden will take the Ducati over in 2009. I believe he will sign up if Sete is getting good results on it (i.e. not a 1 rider bike)

I hope you find a good team soon Marco, staying here trailing the field is bad for your career and confidence.
We all know what you are capable off! :)
