Bad news for sportsfans. We needed Dani in this race to make it more exciting than the 2 horse race of Stoner & Rossi.

Now we only have Rossi with a bike and skill capable of staying within a few seconds of Stoner. Stoner will win, inevitable with a 0.7 second advantage per lap.

Sigh, another boring race I guess. We need competition.

Thank you DORNA for ruining the sport by ending the 990cc era.

Moto GP is now like F1. 2 teams, with 1 slightly better than the other = we all know (mostly) the result of the race.

Unlike before 2007, when Moto GP was incredible to watch with Melandri even crossing the finishing line one handed wheel spinning!

Maybe Nicky Hayden can do it?

Respect to Pedrosa for trying but it clearly was just not worth the risk of him carrying on.He was obviously really struggling and if he had fallen off it could well have been the end of his season. He's not out of the championship race yet, especially if either Rossi or Stoner do not have a good day at the office tomorrow.Shame for us fans and maybe the championship ?,but the correct decision for sure.

I feel for Dani but I do hope to see atleast 1 former AMA or WSBK rider up front dancing around the track.Dont think it will be NH though.Would like to Rossi take it this year.He have'nt had the best winning luck on the newer circuits. It's nice to see a retired champ's (former or current) record showing he have won on all championship circuits

It is not "Thank you Dorna for ending the 990 era", it is Thank you HONDA..... Honda were the ones who pushed for the 800 class, all the jap factories agreed, only Ducati wanted to keep the big class alive....

800cc was so much safer according to Honda. Well, this season is a new record in broken wrists, fingers and ankles. Thank you Honda.

Go back to 990.

Wise decision - albeit a tough one - for Pedrosa. But MotoGP is no place to be if you are not fit - let alone carry significant hand injuries. Bet West is also feeling pretty trashed. Let us pray all the blokes out there make it home safely, in one piece. Laguna can bite hard, but it is a huge improvement on what it was like in the 1970s. Turn one was real fast back then. Ever see Stevie Baker, Hansford, Roberts et al racing there? Stupendous.

Sucks, but a good decision. With the Mich's all doing rubbish he'd be lucky to get a point in his condition, and it's just not worth it when you're this injured.

Most annoying because he was part of the big battle before, now he'll be just outside of it and getting between Rossi and Stoner....if he goes on a Stoner-style rampage, maybe he can close it back up again :D

It was the right decision - at least he tried and showed plenty of courage to even show up and give it a go. Hopefully he will be fit and fully recovered after the break and can fight for the title. Lets hope we see no more bad luck for any of the riders and the championship is decided on the track by skill and bravery - not dnf's.

Bad luck Dani, get well soon.. There is no doubt that the change to 800s for safety reasons has backfired, there are now far more offs than there used to be CS was very lucky last week with 120mph crash. However it isn't down to the capacity alone, Dorna need to look at this because everybody will be so busy arguing that it's not the electronics they won't notice there's only 10 riders fit enough to race...

Get well soon Dani!

I am concerned about the fact that riders this year (as in previous years) who have been hurt badly are still passed fit to ride with a bucket of pain killers.

With the pressures from teams and sponsors to race I hope consideration is given to any long term damage riding with these injuries may cause never mind the "what happens if they crash again". I think in say F1 they would be a lot tougher on saying no for the drivers sake which has to be the right decision.
