Just watched the interviews...

stoner is pathetic...was that a break check...who knows...no respect at all, and now i know i was right not to be a big fan of this lad..

yes it was heated and unless he comes out and makes an apology for acting like a child and his comments in the interview, i doubt he'll have many fans at all...apart from the little groupies who'll stick by his side..

rossi has made a miracle today, everyone was wondering how much stoner wud win by, and if rossi could come 2nd or not...well even i got proved wrong cos i didnt think rossi had it in him, but what a nice surprise..

as for stoner's comments about being in the dirt..u got urself in there lad...chin up =]

I was at the edge of my seat: I could barely stand to watch the race, but had to!!! I did think Rossi was on fire and perhaps a tad aggressive, but that''s racing! :)

I was too excited to sleep - so happy for Rossi, because loads of people were saying he''s losing it etc....No, welcome back ''Il Dottore''!

As for Casey throwing his toys out of the pram - well, sorry to see you''re such a sore loser! Rossi was the ''man'' (they''re all boys to me!!!) and made several attempts to shake hands and communicate with Stoner.

His quote ''For sure, I deserved it'' has to be a classic one! Go Vale!!!!

It was a great day. An orgy of bike racing, Lewis Hamilton doing some overtaking and Rossi victorious in the US! It's hard to resist a bit of Stoner bashing but resist i shall! Be grateful for a cracking motogp whoever you follow.......oh sod it, come on Rossi, do it again, put that little aussie whinger in his place!

What a race, Vale you are a god on a motorbike :)

Stoner was petulant i agree and he isn't going to get new fans behaving in that manner, just hope he has calmed down a bit, especially when he sees that Vale had nowhere else to go in regards to the corkscrew incident.

Best race i've seen in a long time in GP.

Someone stated that we need to remember that Casey is only 22 and will grow up, we all made mistakes (i've made many) around that age in terms of the things we say and do, not dissimilar to another star on 4 wheels who regularly gets slated for his comments and is the same age-ish.... everyone needs a little perspective. I'm not a big fan of CS but the boy still has talent.

i watched the german F1 gp and saw a controlled but unexciting race. later in the evening i turned on the moto gp. now i am not a true bike fan, but THAT is what racing should be like!! maybe i should switch my allegiances. how nice also to see a magnaminous winner with an infectious cheery manner and who doesnt put his foot in his mouth every 10 seconds. well done rossi, it is a pity you are not in F1!!!!

I'll do a bit of maybe far too distant speculation but here it is nonetheless:

Based on rider+bike performance so far, together with a slight improvement from Yamaha, my speculation on results for the rest of the 7 races is something like that, provided there are no DNFs:

Rossi: 2 wins, 3 seconds, 2 3rds

Stoner: 4 wins, 3 seconds

Pedrosa: Filling in the gaps alongside anyone else brave and able enough to mix it with the above duo.

If the above is anything near correct, Rossi edges out the championship for less than
10 points. And since the above speculation surely is a far bet, we are in a hell of a nailbite championship this year.

@ Grumpy_doctor

Now, my belief on Stoner (as a bad Aussie) has vindicated. Look at his reaction, "Okay we'll see!" I repeat again not all Aussies are bad. I will give one more gem of an example. Someone please tell that Moaner to learn few things out of that great (aussie) man called Cadel Evans :)

And, I've stopped visiting this forum because people indulge in so much of brick batting with all possible weird and stupid assumptions about Age, Life etc of other members! I suggest them to get some Life in the real world

PR, Casey does that to save fuel (just my guess), something which is important to obtain better performance at the actual race. The others can actually learn something here. Had Hayden done the same at Assen he could get the 3rd position!

@ King James II

Some more fuel for the 'unsporting' fire for you ? Ok... Noticed how on the warm up lap Stoner ALWAYS drops back (sometimes even putting his hand up ala bike problem) to let the others sit on the grid for longer before he turns up ?

Like I said, an out and out unsporting, spoilt little so and so.

Typical English form you say ? What generalisation can I make about you ? .. Hmmmm

@ King James ..

Get your head out of your ***. Of course Stoner whinged. To cap it off, not shaking Rossi's hand right live on TV just goes to show what an unsporting little "$%^ he is. As for your comments on the english.. you are wrong there too. At the day of Champions at Donnington he shunned the crowd while others (Rossi included) stayed for a long time afterwards signing autographs.. Stoner thinks he is too good for that perhaps ?

I have owned a Ducati for 23 years, and am Australian. You would think I would love an Australian coming to my favourite manufacturer. I am not. Stoner makes me ashamed to be Australian, he is a poor ambassador for the sport and our country.
