In some ways i think this was a more impressive ride than spies as hacking was on the kwak and this was Not spies first race on the suzi, i also think that hackings ride was better than hopkins would have done.

Hacking said he caught up to Spies and was looking for a way around him when Spies looked back, and seeing Hack there, upped the pace. I think both were more interested in finishing than placing higher up but rissking a spill.

Don't get me wrong, Mladin and Spies are EXCELLENT riders but, I just feel like their obvious advantage makes them look more superhuman. I'm also sure there are some very powerful people who would love to see a young new American in MotoGP. Take that part for what it's worth. I know this all may seem crazy but, I've always felt like Hacking was a better rider than Spies and being on somewhat equal machinery would prove this. Look at how far he and his team have came with the all-new ZX-10R this year. I don't know when Hacking will retire but, I'm sure it's gonna be before Spies and knowing this, why wouldn't he help a friend make it to the top of the mountain if he could help?

Jamie seemed to catch up with him with ease Sunday only to never really have a go at him when he caught him. Hacking said himself that he was hoping to take a breather for awhile till Spies saw him behind him. Why would he do that if his job was to finish as far up as he could? Yes these guys get paid the big bucks to go out there and give it their all but, if Hacking is truly a close friend of Spies, why would he show him up if showing him would expose the real reason why Spies and Mladin have been winning so much? Which *could* be their bikes and the parts and tires no one else seems to be getting. ---continued---

Great ride by my favorite rider on the AMA Superbike grid! I know I could possibly make some people angry by saying this,(I hope I don't) I think Hacking could have beat Spies Sunday. All of this talk about them being friends and so on is what has made me think it. The reason why is because every chance an editor gets, he notes that they are close friends which they do seem to be but, Jamie is 37 years old(How many years could he have left?)and Spies is in his early 20's and is trying to get a MotoGP ride for 2009 so, it would look sooo bad if the 2 time AMA Superbike champ(On a superior bike in AMA) got beat by a guy who constantly gets beat by him in the AMA ---Continued---

I agree with you steve. It was a very impressive debut from a guy who had never even ridden a MotoGP bike before last weekend.

This is a revealing look at the relative ability of the current MotoGP grid. For one, there seems to be a few riders who need to be put out to pasture. Acording to Kawa, Hacking was running at 4th place times toward the end. There is not a lot of depth in the field it seems to me.
