No matter the rider on any Kawasaki, be it BSB WSBK or MotoGP, they are on a poison chalice. Kawasaki are showing no signs of real improvement and in the case of superbikes are in the "also-ran" class. Third bike will have no impact on the development of the bike as investment needs to be made further up the development cycle, rather than when it is on the track.

The term polishing turds springs to mind.

MOTOGP » Kawasaki and the third bike

Contrary to initial claims, Kawasaki are set to confirm a third entry for 2009, possibly for Anthony West.

Keeping Westy on because of investment to date is throwing good money after bad in my view. He showed so much potential in his first few races, but since then he has only rewarded us with inconstancy and a grumpy sneer to the camera. Get Alvaro on board. He's bloody hungry, a skilled fighter and he's a chirpy one to have in the paddock aswell. He might light a fire under Hoppers **** as well.

I hope westy goes to superbike but he can do bettter than Kawasaki. How can Bartholomew say THEY have brought him to a standard. They only took interest after he wopped the WSS fields including Sofalglu.

I don't think Kawasaki's problem is a lack of bikes. Their problem is the their underdog mentality, a lack of competitive attitude. From the outside it's difficult to see the difference in a team's fighting spirit (apart from the results of course) but the differences can be vast.

When Rossi went to Yamaha with his crew he saw the factory had slipped into the mentality of the "competitor" and not the "winner". So, according to his autobiography what he and Burgess needed to do was to instill this "winner" mentality to everyone involved in the project. They even invented a motto for that and it was "no more being the nice guys".

I think Kawasaki need to do the same thing.

Ridings all about confidence.... surely Westy could get a ride on a competative supersport, build confidence where he's good and then move up? Too much to soon ruins riders...Motogp was too much. Kawasaki are going nowhere in any class (jamie hacking ama exepted).
