What more proof do you guys need that the bike is off the pace, not the riders? Ant & Hopper had identical race pace, raced in each others pockets & complained of the same issues with the bike.

The really pathetic part of all this is that Kawasaki team management seem as clued-up as Calvin, and by plugging in yet another rider hope for a miracle performance cure.

The entire Kawasaki engineering staff should be sacked, but before they go they should be forced to line up in front of the riders, past and present, and made to apologise for wrecking their careers.

DFH, my comment was not aimed at the Italian part of this thread, but your comment that I was as clued up as Kawasaki's management. If you read my short post, I said that I hope Marco can do better, but cast doubt on this because of his lack of development experience with a factory team, which is where I think most of the development work is done. There is only so much you can do with a satellite bike. So, after all that, what I was saying was that I was not sure that Kawasaki management had the right rider in Marco as a development rider, but I still think he is a good rider and will make the most of what the bike can achieve.

since day one Kawasaki have completely under estimated the class of rider required to develop (and race) a really good moto gp bike. The only rider of note has been Shinya and unfortunatley for Kawasaki he left them, for a very poor team and lost himself a year, had he stayed they may have had a better bike now. Hopkins is not the calibre of rider required nor is West. Kawasaki should have chucked a bucket load of dosh at Caparossi, Bayliss or Biaggi and got the real deal. Presonally I would go for Bayliss, even now he is still good enough to waste the majority of that grid!

DFH - Not much more than gossip but eurosport also mentioned it during commentry..I agree its gossip but no smoke without fire mate, besides i wouldnt be suprised if hopper had that attitude after all it seems a wreck of a bike.
Correct choice is to sack entire team (westy but not hopper)and start over again with hopper having a more experienced rider to help them develop the bike dunno who...whats kenny jr or jezza mac up to at the mo??

Italian is not a language I speak, but I can read. None of the English language press reported such a story, not even MCN. An Australian TV crew had a live interview with Westy on Saturday in which he made it obvious his displeasure with team green, but no mention of hospitals & Hopkins. The Google translation of the two quotes Patrice provided did not list anything other than unsubstantiated rumours of a marital tiff. No naming of the hospital that Hopkins was - quote " Hopkins being drunk and taking to hospital in coma " No naming of, or comments from, the doctor that treated him upon arrival. No other checkable facts. No cross references. Nothing other than unsubstantiated gossip.

Its what Bayliss said "Dont take on any body elses problems" Who ever rides for Kawasaki next year must be desperate for a ride and cant get one in the 50cc category.

La moglie torna Hopkins gira: 17o

MISANO - (g.z.)
