West is a good rider, and is always good in the rain. That says a lot about his riding skills. You can not doubt a rider when he's fast in the rain.
Rain levels the participating machinery. Sure you can attribute a lot to just simply having the guts to go fast in the wet, but guts isn't enough to stay upright on the bike and not crashing. You simply cannot defy luck in a wet session every time and not crash.
That bike is simply rubbish, and will never get a decent result under normal circumstances. The lead rider, Hopper in this case, should give everything to get their facts straight to develop a winning bike. Nakano was close to developing a decent bike a while ago.

"The Truth" wake up mate.Nothing to lose. He's already lost. They made him the scapegoat. What has Hopkins done at either Suzuki or Kawasaki? What has Melandri ever done? There is no loyalty in Moto GP. Unfortunately Westy will not end up with the results this weekend. How do you ride when you know they have shot you in the leg? I have watched Westy since the Shell bikes and he can ride. Unlike the Spanish he doesn't have financial backing. Gibernau again. He's already tried before. Go sock it to the WSB's Westy. I loved those WSS races you won especially when Sofuglu tried to outmuscle you and you gave it to him. THAT WAS EXCITING!

I think Westy's next career move should be to the australian swim team :p :p :p

At this rate I'd actually like to see a wet race!

By being fast in the wet, on a variety of bikes in a variety of classes, Ant West is obviously a rider with great feel. That feel does not abandon a rider in the dry.

The dry weather results of Ant on the Kawasaki reflect the bikes true level. At the mid point of the season the team used the press to pressure their riders- blaming a lack of motivation. At Assen Ant had a spectacular front end loose in the race and Hopper had multiple crashes resulting in significant injury, at Laguna Ant had another big front-ender in practice & a couple of trips to through the kitty litter.... the riders were over-riding the bikes to save their careers.

So West to win a Wet Indy, as a finger to Kawasaki

Good note on Nakano's work on developing the bike. Kawasaki have been close - but no cigar. They need to see the light as have other factories and the light is Magnetti-Marelli's electronics package. MotoGP is now almost all about electronics and this is what is making the difference between the Yamackas and Ducatis and sometimes the Hondas - which I believe have HRC proprietary electronics packages.

Yes, West is a good rider but the bike is the issue. West has been fighting the bike all season and Hopper is crashing more than he did on the 500 2 stroke !

Good analysis Jules W. Westy is an excellent rider on sub-par equipment. Hope he does well this weekend, and the result serves as a giant kick in the nuts for Bart.

lets not get carried away here... Westy has always been good in absolute soaking conditions and this is no differance. In donny this year he was 3 or 4th in the wet, ditto mugello this year etc etc. one good day out of 13 rounds does not a comeback make.. look at marco he has had at least 2 or even 3 top tens (those at the back saying thanks michelin.. now now  )but everyone still knows he does not deserve to be in that factory team. West is a great guy, and MotoGP has bee good sometimes with him but he would be better in SBK's. You can't base a carrer in gp's on wet weather riding.. ok except vermeulen!! :)

Translation:

Indy in the rain is way too dangerous and West has nothing to lose.
