What about winning in all the actual calendar circuits? In fact, of all the circuits that Rossi has competed in 500cc or MotoGP, only at Istanbul [EDITED (and Welkom) was wrong] has not won. Bring it back so that Rossi breaks the record of winning at every circuit he has competed.

Just an interesting side note in their first 2 years on Factory bikes Rossi won 13 races and so far Stoner has won 14 races and his 2nd year is'nt over yet.So theoretically Stoner could eventually beat Rossi's new record.Just a thought I was having

just a thought kwaka, Rossi had just about won 3 WCs in the premier class IN A ROW by this point in his second factory yr, excluding his 2 yrs on the 500 as that was a satelite ride*. Last time I checked Stoner was on a 1 Fluke WC pace and set to lose this yrs WC also. So um, with that thinking, Caparossi could also beat Rossi's record too, and West and maybe even Colin Edwards....always a chance eh? Lorenzo has the best chance of beating Rossi if you really think of it as he has 2x250 WC already and is showing true promise this yr. Where as Stoner has a weak pre-motoGP record and is getting taught a lesson at the moment. I know you must be sick of the Rossi talk but get real!

VH MP, I think Rossi's very 1st victory with Yamaha was at Welkom, South Africa. If memory serves me correctly, I think he put one AWWWWWWESOME spanking on Biaggi in the closing stages of that race!

Alaywa I bet there is alot of riders out there that would love to have Jeremy burgess and Doohan in ther Satelite team corner. The last time I checked winning 10 races in you're first year on a new bike and team wasn't a fluke, give the kid credit were credit is due.Lets see Lorenzo how many races has he won this year on a factory bike 1 Capirossi with Ducati 1. I just stated facts and figures so settle down and I said Theoreticaly.I'm not Nostridamis are you

Rossi = 24 wins in 48 races his first three years in MotoGP. Stoner = 14 wins in 48 races through the 14th race of his third year in MotoGP. Rossi had won 50% of his races at the 48 race mark (three full years), and Stoner has won 29% at the 48 race mark (two and 3/4 years). So Stoner is winning races only 58% as often as Rossi to the 48th race mark. As of 146 MotoGP races, Rossi has 69 wins (47% of all his MotoGP races). So, if Stoner continues winning at a rate of 58% of Rossi's winning pace, how many races will Casey need to race to achieve 70 MotoGP wins? Hint (not even Loris has raced that many). Is it possible? Yes. Is is likely? No.

@Laterrus Talley. SORRY my mistake, of course. I had Welkom as Pakisa Freeway, so you are right, Rossi has not won only at Istanbul.

@Kwaka. In 2000 and 2001, there were only 16 races in the calendar: 13/32 = 41% average wins for Rossi on satellite team (great components but still satellite). In 2004 (crappy bike) and 2005, there were 16 and 17 races respectively: 20/33 = 61% average wins on starting 2 years on a factory team. In 2006, Stoner was on satellite with no wins. In 2007 there were 18 races and in 2008 there have been 14 so far: 14/32 = 44% average wins on starting 2 years on a factory team.

I was just going by his factory ride because his first year on LCR was the same as Mr DE punt it is having.LCR must have a permanent stone guard built in by now.Even Rossi probably couldn't win with LCR.So that bumps Stoner up to 45% of races(that sounds better). When you look back, it even took Doohan(after horrendous injuries, which robbed him of 2 WCs)5 years to crack it and then he was unstoppable for 5 year then injuries stopped him,so you never know here's hoping. Rossi has to pass the batten to somebody
