Here's a way out thought guys....

Who cares about a single tyre rule?? Personally I watch MGP to see who is the BEST RIDER not who has the best tyres.

If they all start on a level playing field, all with the same tyres, nobody with an advantage over anyone else IMHO it's a good thing.

All I wish for now is a total ban on all electronic aids and a return to 990cc so we can really see who is the BEST RIDER and not who has the best tyres or best electronic package.

Am I the only one who is happy at this first step???

600 class now one tyre rule...not very imaginative, just looks like they are copying WSBK and trying to add a twist, they need to make sure that the 800s are still quite a bit quicker than the superbikes or it's in trouble..

Bob-- walk towards the light, you clearly completely in the dark..

JC, I appreciate your bias, however, we are talking about the reason the series is going to this rule. You are still yet to provide a suggestion as to why my comment is way off the mark. Don't let Hollywood Rossi's bright lights prevent you from having a an opinion of your own.

It's not hard Bop.. michelin have failed to come up with goods since 2006, three of the top four riders on michelin.. no spectacle... The funny thing is CS was saying let them have bs I'll still kick their 4sses...totally dillusional.. the biggest con of the new era (800s)was anybody who believed CS was really that much better than anyone else he'd just always had crap kit..blame his fans for that....

Since you asked Bob… Stonner was on Michelins in 2006, when did he helped develop Brigestones? He simply inherited them into last years' Championship. There you go, it was easy!

JC how many WC did Rossi win with his "overnite" specials from Michelin? No one else got those tires but Rossi.

Dunce, nice name by the way, apt. Are you really suggesting that Michelin engineered Rossi's success by providing better tyres than everyone else on purpose? And that no one else got overnight tyres? Even considering that for most of his championship winning years there was no real competition between tyre manufacturers and all his competition were on Michelin too? If so maybe you should go post on a conspiracy website or something. Maybe Bridgestone are behind his success this year too huh? hmmm... Stoner has been moaning about getting duff tyres....Hmmm

VH MP, '06 was a 990 year, if you think they just threw the same hoops on the 800, you are a bigger tool than you make out to be. Try again!

To BeBop, no one here is saying anyone is streets ahead of anyone else, sometimes a certain rider has an advantage over another and vice versa, it just seems to some non Rossi fans that his 'pull' is a considerable advantage, bordering on unfairness. I don't dislike Valentino (Pedro either), but I do feel a little ripped off when these advantages impact on the performances of other competitors. I was happy with CS's championship year, but if his advantage had continued, who knows, I'd probably have climbed on someother underdogs bandwagon. Cheers.

Dunce--you reckon repsol got 2nd rate michelins in 2004/05 when Rossi was on the Yam... dream on, the rules allowed it back then you could make your tyre choice after friday practice everyone who was anyone got the tyres they wanted(it was a myth developed by the CS fans to blow Rossi's light out and make Caseys shine brighter)... besides I don't think BS have flown tyres in this year and he's got a very good chance of winning the title again...

JC, you really are in the dark aren't you! Either that or you're yanking my chain. Only a wall eyed mullet or a dead set Rossi fan would NOT believe the theories you've suggested. I personally believe them to be gospel, am I the only one?
Crikey, I'd better get another beer before the race starts.
