It was Michelin that was Responsible for VR loss 2007 at least.

And they were also responsible for his championships in 04 & 05. What's your point?

Good for the sport..

Some very good comments made by you and a few other.

Do we know as of yet if the MotoGP single tyre rule will be the same as WSBK with 3 different compounds or will it be single tyre with a huge range of compounds and certain riders will get special treatment?

If we do go back to the days of certain riders getting special tyres, what will this new rule achieve?

A Spanish, Italian world championship?

This is onlt good for the sport as us the watchers of the battles rather than the circulation race after 3 laps as the bikes extract the max from everything and thats the pace you run.
If all are on the same tyres, then the excuse of "My tyres" goes out of the window. It's how your package gets the best result from the tyres. Lets just hope that no specific manufacturer leads the way in development and that the rubber company produce a true generic tyre and get the manufacturers to discover how to make the tyres work to the max.
This rule has turned WsbK into a true king of racing again. It will do the same here and ALL should praise for OUR sakes. We are the winners of this rule.

It will be funny if the big heads in Michelin and B'stone decide they don't want to supply the whole field and do not participate in the bid.

Not very probable of course, but funny to think about it...

Saran motogp is about more than Rossi!!!!!!

Guess all is right in your world now that he is world champ again?

Whoever wins the bid does anyone think that the tyres the factory teams get will be the same as the sat teams? give me a break!

Best thing to do is take away the tyre limit rule......... this is meant to be a prototype series isnt it?

Obviously there will soon remain not a single major championship where tire manufacturers do fight. The tendancy with organisers is to set a single tire rule BEFORE they have only one manufacturer accepting to supply tires. DORNA was not fast enough in 125 and 250, where Dunlop is the one and only manufacturer without paying anything to DORNA, and Ezpeleta is not willing the same thing to happen in MotoGP...

Pirelli have paid a lot of money to get the WSB/WSS supply in spite of their crappy tires, and the Flammini brothers have built on this money to turn their series into possibly the best racing around.

Michelin have a long history of losing bids, which is why they hesitate to bid at all

Well Michelin can supply Tires to "Tour De France" for all I care. It was Michelin that was Responsible for VR loss 2007 at least.

But realistically One tire rules look like Rider skills is the one that us fans want to see instead of the riders spending too much time in the set up. At least it evens out the playing field a little.

Do Fans really know what shoes Usain Bolt was wearing or just want to see him Dash.

Tell you what I do if I am the CEO of Michelin I will sell off all my shares, Go over to japan and buy over Bridgestone Company and I will supply tires to MotoGp

"BRIDGELINS" or "Michestones"
jokes over

Unfortunately Tires seem to be the critical part of Bike development

Stefan:

you asked: Why would Michelin just roll over?

I'm not certain they are rolling-over...surrender might be a better choice.

try Googling "French Military Victories" and hit the I'm feeling luck button.
