What a joke it is that Westy is 1 point behind a guy on one of the fastest bikes, when he is on the worst, hope he beats him & wins WSS next year. Go Westy :D :D :D

If any riders' biography is worth reading I reckon it's ant west's. All that stuff with him being in so much debt to his dad. Mad.

Maybe not in 2010, but he does have a solid return route lined up I think.

2009, WSS champ or top 3>>>2010 nice ride in new 600cc GP>>>2011 MotoGP with a decent team...although he would be 29 by then, so it might be a tough deal in 2011, but if his asking price is low enough it might be possible.

One of the impressive things about Ant is that he's managed to keep himself out of hospital, unlike Hopkins. When you consider the pressure he must be under (debt + 1st full motogp year) and what a diabolical ride the kawasaki is that's a professional performance - you're no use to anyone in hospital. And anyone who doubts his courage just look at his performances in the wet over the years. I hope he outpoints Hopkins in the championship, there's only 5 points in it.

TheMAN - don't count out a 29-year old rider... Doohan started his WC winning streak at 29... Bayliss was no spring chicken either.. and the Rosser has a WC or two left in him, methinks. You'd have to wonder why say Yamaha or Honda wouldn't have wanted one rider with wet-weather ability somewhere in the mix to help the rest of the guys when it rains: Squeeky has Vermeulen, Duc has Stoner - or are the (HRC and Yam) relying on TC to make up the difference? Certainly Rossi can ride anything anytime extra well but expecting the other guys to be able to use his settings seems a big ask.

Yes, unfortunatelly there're few riders in motogp never tried competitive bikes like
West
Hopkins
Vermeulen
Dovizioso
De Puniet

Dovi of couse will show his backs to others soon in Repsol machine:P
probably De Puniet also will try much better Honda od Bridge shood.
The rest of them are unluckiest persons for ye******

I wouldn't call a customer Honda uncompetetive.

West has awesome style on a GP bike, would be great for him to get back one day but IMO the dream is over. Too many young European riders, not enough seats.

You're all mad, apart from a 3 race purple patch in WSS which got him motogp Westy has done zero throughout his career..(he's only scraped into the top 10 twice since leaving the great and wonderful Oz.) he should be thankful that even with a very poor cv he was gifted the opportunity to race at the highest level...

Put West on a Factory Honda or Factory Yamaha and he would run at the front all year long.

Doodaa, Shame you don't understand the difference in quality of bike and the potential of the bikes West has riden his whole career. You probably made excuses for Rossi in 2007 that his bike was not good enough and that is why he lost. But some one who has a competitive bike for 3 races in his whole career has done zero. Tosser.

West showed his quality during those 3 races that he had a competitive bike. Aussies typically don't get the silver platter treatment that Italians and Spanish riders get.
