I don't remember anybody saying it was easy to go from 250 to 500 in the old days. Even Rossi didn't have an easy transition.
Too much electronics and traction control on the motogp bikes ?

still don't think kalio will do any good, hes had 2 chances to be wc now and not took either,he expected talmacsi to move over so he could be gifted the 125 title, had a handsome lead in 250 this year and just lost the plot,he is no rossi, stoner, hayden etc, think even jt will whoop him....

True, Dovi even stated his 250 was more difficult to ride and he slammed the electronics!

Nothing wrong with saying what he did. If you remember back to this time last year, Dovi said the same thing...

It is not the first time a 250cc racer claims that the 250-800 transfer is easier than the 125-250 transfer. As mentioned here, he is still 1-2sec behind Stoner. We shell see if Kalio start to fly (as Jorge did)high of the bike when he tries to match Stoner-Rossi-Pedro lap times.
Look at Jogre, he also was very fast on the start of the year, but seems like the M1 totally "tamed" him after 2-3 good crashes.

Kallio's comment made me understand why some 125 winners or champions so struggle in 250 class. Generally, riders who show brilliant results in both 125 and 250 also show in MotoGP.(Rossi, Stoner, Pedrosa, Lorenzo... ) New Kallio and Old Melandri, I expect next season. Pasini, Faubel, Luchi, you have to lead the 250 next year!

Because the 800's are much like 250's to ride they require a simular riding style (no backing the bike into corners) when you watch moto gp it is evident that the smooth riders are generaly better (Stoner excepted!). Lorenzo was very fast but for whatever reason he had a couple of big crashes which understandably dented his confidence but I think he will come right as will Dovi, The test at Valencia was only testing and not much can be read into it, I think Kallio will struggle on this bike unless there are some significant changes in 2009, Kallio is a good rider but I do not think he is in Lorenzo's or Dovi's class.

It probably is easy for most 250 riders to ride a motogp bike 2 seconds or more off the pace.

Like Dovi found last year easy in the begining but to find that last half a second it suddenly becomes very hard.

I think he'll do well though but maybe the wrong bike based on his riding style, would love to see him up there though, think he'll find it hard if im honest.

Kallio didn't say it's easy he said that it was not so difficult... media...

It's easy you can ride with ct and win or without ct to keep fun and be last... :D

Have to be satisfied that there is no el. motors... yet...
