Seems like Mr Denning has problems keeping things upright these days?

Kowalski, agree 100%...

Seems whenever bikers get in cars they are fast (I believe when Rossi got in a Formula 1 car he was less than a second off the pace?)... And when car drivers get on bikes, they are (sort of) fast. Schumi rides MotoGP bike and is 5 seconds off the pace (could we do that?)

If you are fast you are fast! I'm in Sheffield and I bet Toseland whizzes his trolly round Morrisons 5 times faster than me!

Bike riders always go better in cars than car drivers go on bikes I seem to find. Think any quick riders you know, I bet they are also very rapid in cars. How many quick car drivers do you know that ride bikes... poorly?? :)
2 wheelers do it best!

I agree with you, Joe. You only have to look at John Surtees. Colin McRae was the exception to that though. He was pretty fast on a bike too although I'm not sure what, if any 'major' testing he did.

Wayne Gardener hopped off his 500cc at the end of his career and jumped in a V8 racing car in Aus and started to finish ahead of the long termers in qualifying and placings and didn't the long termers get pizzed off about that. Gardener got pizzed off with the tosser race cars in Aus and went to Japan and did the same thing. He used to say he liked crashing the V8's because its all nice and comfy.

I think its because riders have a much better appreciation of grip levels. When driving our car on wet roads I always judge the surface grip as if I was on a bike, but the lumbering beast lets you get away with conditions that would end in tears on 2 wheels.

Put a proffesional bike racer who lives on the edge of grip - and knows only too well how much it hurts to overstep the mark - into a steel cage, where being punished for oversteeping the boundaries is less painful and they are bound to impress.

Wouldn't it simply be because it's much easier to drive a car fast than it is to ride a bike fast? :?

Having done a fair few track days in cars and bikes, I certainly know which I'm more comfortable throwing around with gay abandon and pushing to the tyres limits! :p
