Good to see that Yamaha as still pushing the envelope in R&D.

I wonder how much input Vale & Jerry had in all this. Im sure with tyre wear etc, they would have been a great help.

I love reading about stuff like this. It would be nice to hear about 250cc technology. Does anyone know where I can find info out about the 250cc bikes?

This is what I find so great about Yamaha, they do this every year, giving us an insight in what they're doing.
Why can't the other manufacturers do the same? It would be a nice read to see where Honda and Ducati are in their development.

Yamaha deserve congratulations! However there are still 2 areas which must be of concern, they are Starts ( both G.o.a.t and Jorge suffer from indifferent starts) and top speed ( the Yamaha seems slower than the Ducati and the Honda ). G.o.a.t has said they need more power which of course equals top speed, not sure if the starts are a bike or rider issue. in spite of these 2 issues the Yamaha seems to be the best balanced bike in Moto GP and I hope they enjoy success in 2009, they certainly have 2 of the top 4 riders ( in my opinion ) riding the bikes!

Rossconz, if there's one thing this year has proven its that a few k's top speed is nowhere near as important as overall engine performance. The M1 has the best engine out there.

Amazing all this praise for Yamaha. I wonder if any these people were praising Yamaha back when their idol was with Honda?

My guess would be comments like "Yamaha need to pick up their act, to be competitive with Honda and Rossi" & "Kudos to Honda for it's race development, why cant the other teams do the same"

Still Yamaha was the best bike in the field by a long margin. with Both Rossi and Lorenzo as race winners and constantly on the Podium. You cant really say the same for the Ducati's as Stoner was the only rider to fly the flag and still managed 6 race wins. Honda, well it's all Pedrosa and stuff everyone else. Little like Rossi and Yamaha.

I would praise any manufacturer who I think builds a good package, I understand engine power is not everything and I have stated that I think the Yamaha is the best overall package in 2008, however it was very evident on circuits with fast straights the Yamaha seemed to be a little down on top speed compared with the Honda and the Ducati, when you are competing at the top level you need everything to be as equal as possible and you dont need to give Stoner a MARKED speed advantage, after all it is G.O.A.T who is asking for more power! surely he should know now what he needs to win championships, he after all is G.O.A.T! I would like to see al1 bikes competitive so we have good racing!
