What happened to Meladnri?

Lets go back 12 months where the Fanboi's all told us that Melandri would sort Stoner out, because Stoner was not a real racer. Remember those name of hate, Crasher, Moaner, etc.

Well Stoner went out again this year and flew the Ducati flag with 6 race wins and his team mate and other Ducati riders did sweet FA. Same thing the year before with Capirossi and the other riders.

Same thing seems to stand out. Stoner got the job done and the others did nothing but complain, a little like the Rossi fanboi's

What a Nightmare season, riding the fastest bike out there but ends up in the last two position. Maybe he will be faster riding a 250cc rather than a 800cc duc in the premier class.. :-o
It just The bike doesn''t suit his riding style, but the duc is like a gift for Stoner.. well good luck at kawasaki dude.. :)

Hope he goes well, although the Kawa is not a race winning bike and probably won't be for the foreseeable future. Maybe if he beats Hopkins he can get back on a Honda or Yamaha.

A year on the dog that is Kawasaki, and the quit decision will no longer be his option.

I hate fans that give up on riders and state that they are 'done', but I honestly think Melandri's time has passed. He obviously has quite a few mental blocks that are getting in the way of his talents. He is a smooth, small rider, where I think the Ducati and the Kawi need aggressive, strong riders to tame them. Melandri has had always IMO been on good rides (3 x different factory rides now), so it's never been a case of not good enough bike.

I am not saying wash the hands of him, but there are plenty of much hungrier, talented riders that deserve a factory ride, especially one that needs development (Kawi). Marco has shown he is not experienced enough or has the mindset for development

i,m amazed the guy has managed to get a job this year. there are guys kicking ass in lower classes and domestic championships pulling their hair at the news that another man is making a career out of being a 800cc advertising board, while they would sell their grandmother and cut off a testicle for that ride.if your face fits, you got a job for life. does anybody seriously think that he will do anything on the kwak?

this is a mistery. Apart from Stoner, a number or riders well past their prime have done podiums or victories on the Ducati: Capirossi, Gibernau, Bayliss, Barros and Elias, do I miss anyone?
So what happened to Melandri, does anyone know what was the problem?

Oxygen Thief.

All well healed race fans appreciate Stoner is a great talent.

I hope Marco does well on the Kwak next year, its the 3rd year of 800's and the only rule change is the tyres, well that only effects 6 riders? it could be a great year of racing.

Marco has got real problems, if he is unable to to get up to pace with his new team.He actually advised Rossie not to go to Yamaha as the bike was unridable.Maybe Marco requires someone like Gerry Burgess to give him some advice to set the bike set up.Otherwise he will have to look out for yet another new team :?
