THe motogp battle will be LOrenzo V.s Pedrosa in the upcoming years.

@Bob.....So what if he used data that Rossi was able to provide over the course of years. Every year during preseason Testing Rossi does this to develop and setup a good bike. Its why Yamaha pay him the big bucks and why he is saught after from any and every manufacturer. Everyone (Rider) makes use of a manufacturers data provided year after year by all their riders. Sometimes the non - factory teams benefits greatly from this also as Yamaha Tech Team did. Fortunately for Jorge Lorenzo he rides the bike and not the other way around of where the Bike does the riding for him, unlike some riders. 2009 will be a great test for DP, CS, AD and VR because Jorge has proven he is no pushover.

David Smith, you are a numpty.

There were no significant rule changes in 2008 after the Stoner show in 2007 (certainly none that favoured Rossi). Rossi won the championship fair and square watch the races again if you need reminding. Deal with it and move on.

If all Dorna were interested in is ratings, they would hire someone to make Stoner disappear as he is one of the most unpopular riders out there, mainly because he is the only serious threat to Rossi (ok, he moans a bit too looks miserable all the time). Before you get on your soap box, I have a very high regard for Stoners riding ability and have put money on him to win the title back next year.

Well, Andrea Dovizioso scored overall 5th position on a satellite team. If Jorge was on a satellite team also (lets say as Andrea team mate ?), I think he's still at the current 4th position overall anyway from the skill and statistical point of view.

But Hey ... That Krapasaki is a factory team :p
BTW to transmutes a "krapasaki" into a real "Kawasaki" is simple, bring Rossi and all of his crew especially Jeremy Burgess to krapasaki team and let them do the job like in 2003 when they turn a Yamaha into a "Honda". :p :p :p

Dray, I think you are very optimistic to think JL would have achieved 4th on a non-factory bike, but that's just my opinion. He is good, but being Rossi's team mate got him 2 or 3 extra positions by the end of the year with Michelin data etc. Remember he is in an 8x world champs shadow with a crew chief whose won many more than that.
I'm not sure what Stoner and Pedros stats have to do with my comment and to be honest, the only harsh thing about my comment, is the way you've responded to it. It sounds like you believe he could have won on the Krapasaki! Get real.

David Smith - if you follow the sport closely you'd know that it was Honda that was pushing for a change to 800's (that was as they were winning a championship with Hayden - ie: Rossi got beat). So explain why all major changes come when Rossi loses? It wasn't DORNA wanting to go to 800's, it was Honda and the other Japanese factories agreed.

The reason the rules have continued to be changed each season since then has nothing to do with Rossi either - they keep getting changed because ever since the 800's came the series is as about exciting to watch was watching paint dry. They are losing fans not because Rossi lost, but because the series is becoming boring.

David Smith, did Rossi not beat Casey with more or less exactly the same regulations as last year? Yamaha simply provided Rossi with a slightly quicker motor, Rossi changed tyres to the superior brand and hy presto, Rossi beats Casey. The goal posts wern't moved at all this year. Your point about the rules being changed to enable Rossi to beat Casey etc makes no sense whatsoever, he's just handed it to them all this year ! :?

David Smith sounds like a real tosser, Of course Bridgestone are going to listen to the world champ for development as he has been winning races and especially when he had no data at the begining of the year but still seemed to get the set up right. In my book that makes him a prime candidate for development purposes. Tyres dont make people win its the whole package crew, rider and bike set up so wake up and give credit were credit is due!!
