Great to hear he''s having fun playing with the F1. Three seconds down isn''t bad for the 1st time on this F1 without traction control. I''m sure his second day he''ll improve on his time. If Rossi wanted to race F1 I''m sure he''d be competitive and given sufficient time I''m sure he''d probably challenge for the championship.

But I''m glad that he''s sticking with motorcycle racing where he''s already a legend .

Let's all agree on something now, just for fun:

How fast does Rossi have to be before we can (hand on heart) that he could really be something in F1?

3 seconds is already pretty good,
2 would be great,
1.5 exceptional,
1 would be title contender and amazing natural talent,
0.5 would make him the most exceptional rookie EVER
and if he went faster? It'd be impossible and rigged!!!!

What do you guys all think? :?

Well 3sec down right now isn't too bad, 30 laps isn't much so I'm guessing the day is not over yet. 3sec down is good, but I will be super impressed if he gets within 1sec of the others times there.

Personally, I don't want him to get any quicker or despite what has been said, he could be a contender for a full time seat.
Let him enjoy the session but if he gets any quicker put diesel in the tank.

Seriously, if he gets within 1 second, I'll want to see him racing in F1.

3 seconds isn't bad considering there is no traction control. It doesn't matter either way because he's not going to F1.

Rossi cut his time from 1:23.9 this morning to 1:22.5 this afternoon, after a further 25 laps... :)

I think within 1 second to winning race pace would be impressive. However, it is only a first test, so these numbers don't mean much.

It is more important to see the heart and courage to push the limit.

Does Rossi have that for F1 car? Who knows?
