The Alice team is a satellite team - like every other manufacturer, the kit and support is never up to the same level as the factory team.
Why do certain people seem to delight at having a pop at Ducati? At least the Alice team started the season with 2008 bikes identical to the works team. Why didn't Elias win then? Honda has been supplying their satellite teams with the 2007 machine.
Ducati is a small operation without the resources of the Japanese factories and as such has done extremely well. Next season, there will be 5 Ducati's on the grid. From Suzuki and Kawasaki, only 2 each. Nuff said.
Elias has never been that hot on anything & it's a case of a poor workman blaming his tools :rol

Not the first time we hear that ! Barros made the same comments, Hofmann too. I don''t know why Ducati makes the life so hard for the private teams. The factory team has better riders, technicians and support by paper anyway. What are the afraid of ????

His second and third place prove you wrong Otto, besides, do you remember his fantastic win in Estoril '06 where he outclassed Rossi and a storming Roberts in the last lap? Elias is known for up and down results but he has never gotten a real bike to prove his undeniable talent.

so because he has 2nd and 3rd place results he deserves a better bike under him? this is coming from a world where hayden "didn't deserve a championship even though he won it fair and square". 2nd and 3rd place dont mean jack, and because he has had a very light handful of "good" races, in the entire mix of the gp world its means squat, elias will fade just like the slew of other riders because he is mediocre at best, and there is a reason obviously why he isn't on a factory bike.

@ baylisstic

At best, Elias can beat an on form Rossi (Estoril '06). Nominally he is mediocre to middling though :)

He will be anywhere between lower and upper midfield most weekends.

You've got it, that's how it works :)
Hayden won his title rightly in '06 but lets not forget he's coming from a country that is a growth market for Ducatis.
There's more than meets the eye.

In some MotoGP team there is even a difference between the support they get from the 'factory'. I don't think that hayden and lorenzo got the same support from Honda/Yamaha as Pedrosa and Rossi got. So its just normal that the satellite team doesn't get the latest and greatest hardware at the same time as the factory boys do.

All very frustrating for Toni but does he really think things will be better with Honda ?

Shure things will be better with Honda! What a harsh thing to take parts wich produced good results back! I was amazed by the Barros story. Now it seems to me that the 'passion' extends to mean: 'if you are not with us, you are against us'... :p

Wow how bizarre. You would think they don't want to compete for the constructer's championship or collect data which could help the factory team. Maybe they just didn't have the parts in stock at the parts desk or noted down Elias's and Barros's addresses wrong or forgot to ring them to tell them they had arrived...
