Whatever anyone says about Edwards, for me Imola 2001 cements his place in racing history. I have been a staunch supporter of his for years and it was more than disappointing that Hayden nicked his ride with Honda in MotoGP. I am sure that others will disagree but after 'that' season and two world championships against some fierce competition he deserved a good ride. He is one of the few true characters in the sport, can still ride fast, but for me I would love to see him back in World Superbikes against some old and some new opposition.

Oh and if anyone reading this hasn't seen the highlights of the Imola race, look it up - or even better buy the year review dvd!

Edwards and Toseland have fallen out, James nicked his crew chief for 2009.
That will spoil the atmos at Tech 3 for the coming year...

@ damo "Well he beat Toseland pretty easy in the end, lets see where king James ends up on this list Lol" well not really 6 years in GP in the team riding the 2 MOST succesful bikes since 2003 (Sete's Honda in 04 and Rossi's Yamaha from 05to07) and still no WINS!! The guy is great but he has very much had his chance in GP's. JT Beat him in the very first round in both Qualy and Race and only ended up 39 points infront of JT with 5 more years in GP on MC (3 of those on the same bike) so really it was expected to beat him and he only just did it. I put money on JT Trouncing him next ye****

At the bottom is my re-cycled post and predictions are KO'ed cuz of JT.

"Well I thought Elias would be in the top 10, but I had him at 8. Seems like I under estimated the English votes. Watch for a real crazy vote for Toseland. If he comes in Top 5 then I could really develop an automatic dislike for him. That's how I am. Sorry."

"These are my prediction for the remaining order. Unfortunately, this is not the way 2008 Standings finished, but this was also a popularity contest hence de Angelis in 10th . Therefore Capirossi, Vermeulen and Nakano might not be mentioned here."

9. Toseland
8. Elias
7. Edwards
6. Dovizioso
5. Lorenzo
4. Hayden
3. Pedrosa
2. Stoner
1. Ross

Dray I'd place Lorenzo and Dovizioso ahead of Hayden any day because of what they've accomplished in their first year. Hayden's over-rated that's why he lost his seat on HRC. I could be wrong but don't see him doing any better next year on the Duc then he did this year but conceivably he could do worse.
