i think this is bull......
he shouldn't even be in the top ten.
he was on the best bike out there. in the first rounds when his rubber was working i expected much much more from him. indeed he is hungry maybe Little too hungry and aggressive for the MotoGP finesse.
i wish him all the luck next year but i doubt it he will beat his team mate.

Good Luck JT prove me wrong.

I think this is a fair ranking for toseland, given the 10 on the list to vote from (rossi, stoner, pedrosa, lorenzo, dovi, hayden, edwards, toseland, elias, de angelis).

did toseland have a better year than de angelis - yes. than elias - i think so. than edwards - arguable either way.

bottom line is that toseland was one of the few riders who actually put up a fight for EVERY position - even when he was at the back of teh field. seeing him banging bars for places at the lower end of the top ten showed he wants it bad. Edwards gives up too easily, remember the way he let rossi through at le mans?

I dont think he had a bad year, it just shows how much each experianced rider knows each track and the machinery. when he went to tracks he knew he wasnt in the top 3 but was in the top 8 most of the time(donnington being the biggest exception) i think there was so much presure on him that weekend he was always going to struggle.
otherwise toward the end of the season he didnt do too bad. i think he will be tech 3 number 1 rider next year or atleast trying to finish infront of edwards in every race. but he will also be riding a world beating bike so he might feel the pressure from that. Me being english hope he does well but i dont think he will compete with lorenzo and dovi next year.

Agree virtual with the le mans let through of rossi (and sete). JT is hungry for it where as Colin proved yet again that once a deal was done for this year his performance dropped off. Given the rookie status of JT and the people he beat both in this popularity contest and in the WC he did prove he has the hungar and was one of a very, very small amount of people this year to re-pass rossi more than once, fair play to the lad and good luck. I cant wait to see next year now that colin and JT are no longer freinds!! Should make for some good battles!!! ex sbk riders an all :D

With respect pini pong, if most people agreed with you that Toseland didn't deserve to be on the list then he would have been voted 10th (and last) not 7th!

I also don't think he was on 'the best bike out there'. A bridgestone M1 like rossi would have been the best all round bike, a full factory Michelin bike like Lorenzo next after that and then his satelitte M1.

All three michelin M1 riders had erratic results this year.

Faster.
the majority of the readers and writers on this website are English.
English always back up their guy. that's why he made the top ten in the first place,
and tats why he isn't last in the list.and as for the best bike i didn't mean the NO.1 bike on the grid but over all the best package.better then Dovi's bike? better then the Gresini bikes?better then the Suzy's? at least as good as the Repsol bikes"in the first half of the season." but still from my point of view i excepted more. he is a very skill-full rider that isn't afraid to fight for positions that he learned very well in SBK.i just think there are better riders that finished higher then him in the championship
Good luck

Lot of big claims there pini pong!

How do you know "the majority of the readers and writers on this website are English"?

I know its uk based, so the writer part might be true, but the reader part??? It's just as easy to read crash outside of the uk as inside. If you want to see what real national bias is then look at mcn, superbikeplanet or any of the spanish or italian sites.

"English always back up their guy". If that's the case why wasn't Toseland voted HIGHER on the list????

"That's why he made the top ten in the first place" - nope. Go read the de angelis vote story, it explains how the top ten was selected.

First up I am not British! I think James performed as well as can be expected for his first year in Moto Gp, the tires which for 3 races at least were just not good enough, I saw him at Phillip island and he was very impressive, his final finishing position with a bit of luck could have been 2 better at least. James was the WSB champion and I believe he deserved his title, I know this is going to bring howls of protests but James said riding a Moto gp bike is a step up from a WSB bike in terms of braking, corner speed etc, Although with some of the current WSB bikes which are in reality Moto gp bikes this situation may not last, sad.
