Looks pretty poor for the Hoff (who''s been helping develop the bike) if Simoncelli can hop on it and instantly be quicker.

Agree with the first comment although in Hofmann's "defence" he apparently really had the task to test some completely new stuff and didn't go for laptimes. So we don't really know if that was as fast as he could. Anyhow, would have been slower than Hairball anyway I guess.

Or to put it another way, Nakano was lapping at about the same pace as the fastest race lap from Valencia this year....

With WSBK on the up, how about Aprilia holding on to Simoncelli and putting him in WSBK in 2010?!

Very impressive from Marco first time out - he was my star of the season (from all classes), made an absolutely massive step up from his previous form and was a very deserving champion. If you'd have asked me this time last year he wasn't even in my top ten 250 riders - I'm very happy he's completely proved me wrong!

Yep, agreed he has a bright future ahead.

It would be nice to see how the lap times from the 250 GP bikes compared to the WSBK times. Just for interests sake.

to be fair to hoffman, this is his first time back on the bike after four months of injury, give the guy a break! impressed by simoncelli aswell. nakano was one of my fave motogp riders especially when he was at kawasaki (when they were slightly competitive), so consistent and a great development rider. he'll do wonders for aprilia.
