The new rear brake positioned on the handlebar???? ... have I missed this design modification to the GP9. Mick Doohan had a similar concept because he couldn''t move his ankle, but why has Canepa gone that way?? Do the other Dukes run the same system?? FIIK.

His feet are too big for the foot brake and its awkward for him to use it properly i think

Thanks slater - I chased this through on motogp.com and you are right. Apparently Troy Bayliss had the same problem / same solution while he was in MotoGP as well. This almost confirms the bikes are built for midgets, because Canepa is not a big guy.

This rear break on the handlebar is nothing new. They have been using it for many years already.

Good job Mika...
now that the new bike is out all the Machines are the same or very close to it.
after the winter/pre season tests when the Bologna factory will start making new parts "with the information the got from all five rides" and send it to one or two riders only the real gaps will start to appier.
I'm really sorry for the Sat Duke riders their up for a very frustrating year.
and its a shame cos Mika seems to be perfect for MotoGP.
hes cool headed knows to ride at his own pace smooth and patient. he can follow a fellow rider for 20 laps and pass just before the finish line just like Rossi use to do in the past.
